I've heard from several different people, both JWs, and former JWs both say the same thing, they don't even give them a plane or bus ticket home.

What happens to Bethelites?
by rickroll inso if someone puts their life into serving the cult for free at bethel, then say after 25 or 30 years they are not able to for one reason or another such as illness, or family issue or old age, does the cult have any safety net for these people or is it you serve until you can't and when you can't you just go away?

My father in law is. I don't think my parents are, but they are in a different category of a negative personality type.

Do You Support Sanctuary Cities?
by minimus inif you do support sanctuary cities, would you be happy to live in one?.
hey, in the bible, sanctuary cities were acceptable, right?

I won't live in one. I can understand why they were first created, but the problem is that people abuse that, which in turn ruins it for those who really need it.

January 2020 Watchtower - the anointed
by Listener init's very odd that the jan. 2020 watchtower was nearly 3 weeks later than normal.
another odd thing about this watchtower is that it has two articles (about the anointed) that is very similar to two articles they wrote only four years earlier.the fact that they have even reprinted two articles that are only four years old suggests that they continue to have numerous problems surrounding their teaching's of the anointed and problems with those claiming to be anointed.here are a few of the differences between both the 2016 and 2020 articles -2016 watchtower states.
anointed christians need to be taught by jehovah just like everyone else.. 2020 watchtower statesof course, anointed christians need to be taught by jehovah through the congregation just like everyone else.. four years ago, they acknowledged that it was only jehovah who were teaching the anointed but the newest watchtower now states that it is through the congregation.watchtower 2016 states there will be 144,000 ruling with jesus in heaven.

I find it quite interesting that they would say Also, some anointed ones might not stay faithful. I take this meaning that there are "false brothers", how about "false brothers" in the governing body. Didn't they say they are not inspired any more?

Do You Think That Belonging To Certain Political Parties Suggests You Are Uneducated or Poor?
by minimus ini hear some people say that if you are a republican or democrat that you must not be very educated, intelligent or monetarily stable.
.
do you think it’s proper to paint any person as less than favorable because of their political opinions?
-
Tameria2001
I don't think it is proper to think less of a person regardless of their opinion? People are constantly changing and evolving. Being Republican or Democrat doesn't drive me nuts, but it is when they go to the extreme left or right, is when things go wonky. The problem happens when the Us verses Them mentality kicks in.

I realize that this is kind of personal, but
by stillin inwhat does being a "spiritual person" mean to you?
the religion would have had us to believe that our place in the organization is definitive of that.
or how often we pray.

Religion separates people with the Us vs. You mentality, we are right and everyone else is wrong. People have even murdered and gone to war over this nonsense. You tell a religious person that your spiritual, most of the time they will pull away from you. I have first hand experienced this with my religious family. Those family members were never JWs. Religion is based on fear, and all religions have a fear base behind their rules. Aka you don't do this or you do that there will be consequences to those; be it burning in hell, destruction, or any other number of ways they come up. Spirituality does not base itself on fear, but love. Religion uses the word love, but there is always something attached to their version of love, which is not true love.

why do jws hate pagans?
by nowawake14 inpaganism from my view is just a mental fantasy.
it's not real.
so why do jws get mad at it anyway?
-

The ironic part about the whole pagan debate with the JW is that almost everything involved in a JWs life started out with pagan origins.

1975 and 1981?
by Steel inis it true that in 1975 the watchtower falsely predicted the end of the world and a great number of the membership quit and just a few years later they turned disassociation into disfellowshipping?

To be more precise, they believe in the end of the system of things. Meaning that God won't destroy the earth, but will kill off every single human that is not a baptized Jehovah's Witness, or a small child of a baptized JW. Now there are also JWs who will be killed off as well, those whose hearts are not in the right condition and doing 100 percent for Jehovah's organization. Afterward, it will be left up to the survivors to clean up the whole mess.
