Why didn't Sadam........?
by confusedjw ingoing back to the pre-war rhetoric it seemed to me that even the german and russian intelligence along with the english and american intelligence and previous inspectors all agreed that sadam had left over (and possibly made more) chemical wmd.
proof seemed to be provided about what they *knew* he had at *some point* and it couldn't be accounted for.. it seems obvious now that sadam did, in fact, destroy it long ago.. my question - why didn't he just prove it to the inspectors?
why not avoid all of this if he could?

Coincidences?
by Agent 1 of 1 ini've been doing alot more research than i ever have when i was a dub.
and i'm starting to realize its not just what the dubs teach that seem coincidental.
its what the bible shares.

ahh, but they're not trying hard enough. it takes weeks to open a portal into the spirit realm and summon forth an angel.

Well, if someone told me that an angel visited them, that would be anecdotal. if an angel visited ME, that would be strong evidence. if a guy came to my door saying he was an angel, I'd ask for strong evidence (fly in the air or something to that extent) before I took his word for it. (A sceen from Dogma comes to min when the voice of God appears in the woman's bedroom). I wouldnt accept "the guy down the street says I'm an angel" as strong evidence.
Strong evidence is something that can be duplicated through scientific experiments. Viewing an apple fall to the ground would be strong evidence that the earth has gravity. Being at a high enough altitude to see the curvature of the earth is strong evidence that the earth is round.
On a similar note: visitation from a leprachaun would change my beliefs on leprachauns. I dont believe in them now, but if one appeared to me and brought me to his pot-o-gold at the end of his rainbow, then i'll believe in him. Of course if I was taking hallucinogens at the time, i'd probably not trust my sensory devices.

Does the jelly mould theory hold water?
by barbar ini recall the idea that just like a jelly mould that has a dent all of the jellies will also be dented.
therefore just as adam was imperfect we to would have the imperfection.. if a cook makes a faulty jelly, is it the jelly that would be blamed?
no, it is the cook for using sub-standard tools or materials.. the same is true with adam, the faulty materials should have been replaced immediately, it is no good blaming the offspring of adam and making them pay for his faults.. i never could understand the suggestion that we had to pay for adams sin.

"How can something bad come from something as good as God?"
God created everything, including the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. God created evil. The tree was there before satan tricked eve into eating it.

rem: I totally agree with you. Weak evidence is no way to prove anything.

not all of human behavior is learned, some is still instinctual. I wonder if humans, in total isolation would eventually do sex themselves, as all other animals do. This of course would never be done due to human ethics, but its curious none the less.
I agree that this story is utter BS.

LittleToe: I suppose I'm a little overzealuos with that. I require much more than a anecdotal evidence to base by beliefs on. If I didn't, I'd buy every diet pill and visit all the pychics for winning lotto numbers. I suppose it could be considered weak, perhaps to add some validity to a claim that already has some proof.
My point was Anecdotal evidence is not proof &/or facts.

Why are there no miricles today?
Because the miracles were written about to build Faith. If we would see them today, it wouldnt be faith. It would be fact. According to christianity, God requires faith in him. If he was to prove his being by talking with you and doing miracles, then there wouldnt be faith in him. It would be just another accepted fact like gravity.
If you require facts to confirm you beliefs (as I do) then religion is not for you. Science is. if you want to believe in things with out physical proof, then religion can give you answers. (Antecdotal evidence does not count as proofs & facts)
