Welcome. The only advice I can give is make a plan and stick to it. It seems like you’re heading in the right direction but don’t think you will be an example to others in the cong. If anything it will be another shining example of a young person who had an independent spirit who put himself first went to go to college and left because of it. Remember, there is no fault in the Truth so you leaving means there is something wrong with you. Staying for your brother is noble and only you know best the influence you can have on his direction. Have an emotional outlet outside of your immediate support circle. Speaking as someone who Is also adopted and has had issues with anxiety and depression, get professional help for this. I wish I would’ve seen a professional when I was much younger. Good luck

During Your IN Years If You Had Anointed At Your Hall, What Were They Like?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inthe scoop of humanity at one khall, the anointed ones" were a mixed group.. one bro, h. had been in for eons.
he was df for adultery, back in the day when they would announce your sin openly from the platform to everyone.
he just kept on coming and partaking until he was reinstated.

I knew 2. One just was schizophrenic and heard voices. The other was a really smart and nice guy who had a great family. He hated being “chosen” and would tell everyone openly that he’d rather be able to stay with his family in paradise. The elders pretty much ostracized him for speaking to his Df’d daughters. He always wore his heart on his sleeve and took offense to people not treating him well.

Feeling numb and alone
by DeWandelaar insince some time i post here on this forum... i am always willing to help people or to express my opinion if it helps someone.... i have already posted something about myself but i haven't told much about my history.. i am married with a nice wife and i have three kids (two of my own and a stephdaughter).
since a year i do not go to meetings and i unofficially stopped with the "truth".
i had a meeting with some elders expressing my concerns with the teachings and with the slave.

Fading is tough. You need to feel a part of something. Join a book club, a lodge, a band, an exercise class…anything that you might feel interested in. Take a community college course. Just one to start. These things help. Talking about it helps as well. Good luck to you.

Is this their arguement?
by problemaddict ini have had some "friendly" conversations with people on my coninuing fade journey.
i realize that isn't always wise, but they are all non-related to each other, and we keep it light.
even my brother got in the mix.

Another scenario. What if you were loyally following the WT and Awake in a banned country and only had older mags. If you escaped to a country and were no longer under govt. thumb, would you be an apostate for not believing the newest teachings?

I heard Jehovah's Witnesses were the first ones on the scene in Boston providing assistance.
by Theocratic Sedition inyou know those articles from the wt are coming, along with emails from jw friends and family.
all the shameless self-attaboys, and fictitious observations by non-jws remarking on how jws provided the most and best assistance to the victims..

I always hated the feigned sadness with a suppressed smile when the JW’s talked about a tragic event like a mass killing or a natural disaster. The conversation would always shift to “Sign of the end.” It always sickened me to hear. The second thing said was “Were there any JW’s there?” No…just people. Peoples sons, peoples daughters, peoples husbands and wives.

NEW LIGHT: The WT Leadership has been wrong about their own identity for the last 93 years!
by Oubliette inso by now, we all know about the "new light" concerning the "faithful and discreet slave" class being the governing body and just the governing body.
other "anointed ones" need not apply.
you've been summarily kicked to the curb.

The GB changes have always seemed reactionary to me. I wonder if this power grab is rooted in any anointed ones grumbling about changes. Overlapping generations for example. We had a very nice Anointed MS who didn’t want to be an elder in my old hall(far too humble). The elders hated him because people would go to him for advice sometimes. We had “special talks” all the time about proper authority. They basically hunted down and DF’d all his kids until he moved. He was a really great and knowledgeable guy.

Elder and MS Extortion!
by jw07 inthe elders and ministerial servants at my hall were asked to attend a strange meeting last night.
the society is asking for our help to raise $10,200.
they are seeking to raise this money in april from elders and ministerial servants in our circuit only.

Very odd. Maybe there's a need somewhere in your curcuit only that requires a little delicacy. They've never had a single "nay" when asking for money from the platform before.

If the hall was packed with invitees: Look how Jehovah blesses our work. Surely the end is close. If the hall has none: Look how Jehovah blesses our work. Surely the end is close.

My wife had all our girls baby clothes turned into quilts. We don't let them use them but they're a great keepsake and would be a great reason why you won't be relinquishing them in the fall.
