That's pretty much a universal problem. Everytime I run into a dub that I haven't seen in a while, that is always the jist of the conversation. When I tell them that my 2 older children don't want anything to do with the truth, it's that same ole, "ah, we're so sorry, don't give up on them". Inside, I'm yippee, that's 2 less that I have to convince.

they had just gotten back from toronto visiting relatives and all they could say was my cousin's husband "wasn't doing anything about da troof.
" it was all i could do to keep from saying "well at least he doesn't beat her like my jw hubby did.

Jehovahs Witness Message Line - Northern Ca.
by jeanniebeanz inyears ago when i was still an active witness, i happened across a phone number in the 'book' under jehovahs witnesses.
i called and it was a recorded message for witnesses, but it was an anti-witness message.
the message at the time compared what the watchtower teaches about the meaning of one of the verses in revelation and exposed it as a lie.

Just called the above number. It is still in effect. Gives some instructions if you need help and refers you to http://www.brci.org. You can leave your name, phone number and address and a packet will be sent to you. It then gives a brief message at the end.

New Convention Publication All About Basic Doctrines
by minimus inmy mother told me today that she has recieved the new publication (i don't know the name of it yet) and it's all about knowing what basic doctrines jws believe in.
she told me this after she had said that she was being given it by a sister this afternoon.
i said, "if there's any new lite make sure you call me".

Does anyone know what day the release is made. I'm planning on making a showing at the DC but don't want to go to all of it. I'll go to the part that has the releases so that I can get one. Also, does anyone know where the schedule for the DC is. I think I saw it posted here once, but I have a Mac and can't do a search. Thanks!

Anyone can attend, especially if you look like a dub. If you are dressed in jeans or a short skirt or have a beard, then you'd probably be considered a study of someone. Sometimes when they release publications, you have to show your blood card to get one but that doesn't happen too often.

Protesting at the District Convention

i can remember years ago (when still a believing dub) seeing protesters at the convention and always thought to myself, "what poor deluded souls.
" all it did was confirm to me how thankful i was to know the truth and how sad that satan had gotten to them.

I can remember years ago (when still a believing dub) seeing protesters at the convention and always thought to myself, "what poor deluded souls." All it did was confirm to me how thankful I was to know the truth and how sad that Satan had gotten to them. It didn't do anything to change my beliefs. So it got me to wondering, why protest if all it is going to do is make people more convinced that "we are living in the last days" and that "Satan is really working overtime"? Any thoughts? Oh, by the way if anyone here is going to protest, I'll try to slip you the "peace sign" as I'm walking in.

Why should Kingdom Hall sales proceeds go to the Watchtower?
by VM44 insuppose a whole congregation decides it has had enough of the watchtower.
suppose also that they have paid for their own kingdom hall and the mortgage is paid off in full.. why should they not be free to rename the kh to some other name, or, if they want to, sell it and keep the money?.
legally, why should the watchtower think it has a claim on the kingdom hall property?

I know the Bonham, TX deal was almost 20 years ago, but does anyone know what happened to the 3 that got disfellowshipped? Someone mentioned that it would be interesting to see how Ralph Deal was able to get a whole congregation behind him. Not that far-fetched if everyone is related to one another, which happens quite a bit in the borg, especially the elder/ms body. I've been in congregations where it could have been named "Joe Blow's congregation" cause everyone (that mattered) was related to Joe Blow.
