Of course this announcement, if true, will be spun like the end of the BS, rising cost of fuel, bad economy, loving provision for the R&F since they pay the expenses of the CO during his visit, etc.
I don't think getting rid of them is as much financial as they are having too hard of a time finding qualified brothers that want to go into the circuit work. The congregations foot the bill for everything related to the CO's.

This doesn't surprise me if really true. Most congregations that I attended, the BOE put on a show when the CO came around and after he left it went back to business as usual. I never really felt he had much of an impact on the elders, but most JW's enjoyed the change in the monotonous routine.

I was where you are a few years ago. I still have lots of family in and have to pretend that everything is wonderful in WT land, so I feel your pain. It does get easier.
I find it much easier to sit through a meeting now that I no longer have guilt. That was probably the worst thing for me, the guilt. Guilt that you are not doing enough, not a good parent, spiritual head, not enough time in field service, etc.
Now I live my life the way I want to and when I am forced to go to meetings, I sit there and smile because what they say from the platform does not influence my life anymore. If we would not be shunned by our family, we would never step foot back into a KH, but unfortunately that is not the case right now.

i made no secret of my disapproval of the wtbts and was very vocal to my doubts of it being god's true organization on earth to the po.
now, the po and another elder has scheduled to talk with my wife tonight for a sheparding call at the home of the book study.
Give her time. If you can drop little tidbits to her now and then, maybe someday it will click. That's what happened to me. My dad disassociated himself and things that he said to my DH and I clicked in years later, first to my DH and then to me.
She may never leave the witnesses completely if she has family in, but she may get to a point where she sees the light and you can live normal lives.

I haven't read all of the above comments but a couple of people mentioned being the best husband you can be. This is really good advice. The WTS has the R&F convinced that once someone leaves "the truth" they instantly become immoral, therefore, your wife probably fears that this will happen to you. Let her know that nothing is going to change just because you disassociated yourself and she wants to remain a witness.
Just reassure your wife of how much you do love her and start doing more activities with her. If you can get her to meet other people that aren't witnesses and show her that they are not evil that may help also. People fear the unknown.
