So, most of the time I lean toward being a libertarian.
I'm with you...If the election were held today, I would have to vote for the libertarian candidate. I relate most closely to their ideals.
being a former witness, when i first left the religion, i thought it would be a good idea to stick with a party that was fairly conservative in their stand.
although, in many ways i did not agree with them, i liked the republicans more then the democrats.
so i registered republican.

anyone close to there?
i will be there from july 22nd til the 28th.
my hubby will be in meetings all day so i will need to keep myself entertained.
Right. You wouldn't want to take the car into the city. But...!! There are trains and other transportation to use and I think you would really enjoy it. Talk to someone at your hotel and find a simple City destination - a museum, a store, the NY Public Library, a park. It's really a fun city and so much to see. It would be a shame if you didn't at least go for a few hours.
That's a great idea. I have been to the city a couple of times before and had a blast.

is NYC too far away?
Probably so...I will have a rental car to use, I think, but not sure I want to venture into NYC by myself. I'm a big girl but driving in major traffic when I am unfamiliar with the place un-nerves me a bit.

Anyone know where that is? Anyone close to there? I will be there from July 22nd til the 28th. My hubby will be in meetings all day so I will need to keep myself entertained. I guess it's about 30 miles from Newark. If anyone one lives near there, pm me, I would love to meet up and have lunch or something.
for my mother who has alzheimers.
my husband and i made the decision over the weekend.
she is just getting weaker by the day, has no interest in food or liquid, and .
HOSPICE IS FANTASTIC! Had to shout it out. They really helped our family when my mom passed away. So sorry that you have to go through this. My mom suffered the same disease so I feel for you.
i bet this is different than a minor child in college... i can only hope that the new information from the co will cause a lot of jw's and elders to scratch their heads and consider what exactly is going on here.
if this information causes an exodus of elders... that is very good.
imagine, an elder being removed because his wife is in college.
How dare her! If she's got that kind of time and money, she should be pioneering.

Maybe we won't have to worry about it. Armageddon is right around the corner!
is indeed apparently nigh as another poster predicted along with the end of the weekly bs.
not sure when this should take place but i'm reliably informed by a family member that one of the uk's overseers was talking about it fairly recently.
reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..
Good question, Eyes Open! I was wondering myself.
Of course this announcement, if true, will be spun like the end of the BS, rising cost of fuel, bad economy, loving provision for the R&F since they pay the expenses of the CO during his visit, etc.
I don't think getting rid of them is as much financial as they are having too hard of a time finding qualified brothers that want to go into the circuit work. The congregations foot the bill for everything related to the CO's.
monday, may 19, 2008. lastest news!
no more circuit overseers.
well the decision has been made.
This doesn't surprise me if really true. Most congregations that I attended, the BOE put on a show when the CO came around and after he left it went back to business as usual. I never really felt he had much of an impact on the elders, but most JW's enjoyed the change in the monotonous routine.
i was pm with a@g and have with others here in the one-in-one-out marriage situation, and have a question.
time flies.....i have been considered apostate for at least two years now, and it seems my wife says she loves me all the time....almost makes me uncomfortable.
i have changed, not her, and i realize that.
My dad da'd himself about 10 years before he died. He tried to convince my mom that it was all lies and deceit but it just made her a stronger witness. She died a faithful witness.
