Usually, the ones who are worth a shit have a little fire in their soul. Be who you are. Trust me there are people who like you just the way you are, and if you tried to be something different you wouldn't like yourself. I know this to be fact.

Of times and $$$$
by zebagain inin sorting insurances out updating , i just mentioned to my wife who is 'in' that in the event you have to claim "dont give any of it to anyone else".. there was a pause i didnt like.. comments by others on this site indicated the wts has been beating the drum for $$ i fear what she may have agreed to.. to those who have insurance it is not.. not to go, not a cent to the wts as they have belittled anyone taking out insurance or retirement benefits.. my insurance has been created to keep her and our handicapped offspring not the gb on a building spree..

Depending on the law of the land, a wife may be entitled to some of a husbands estate if not all of it, however the question here is about insurance and you can leave that to whoever you want. As an example, you die and have a million dollar LIP on yourself and you have named your trust as the payee. You never owned that million dollars. You were dead before it was paid. It is no way part of your estate.

Depends on region and law of the land. Trusts are very solid in some areas. An individual can claim anyone he or she wants on a life insurance policy they pay for period. I have a policy on myself payable to one of my business partners to cover his loss in my death and He the same for me. None of that money will go to my wife. A LIP is not part of ones estate. I do not own that money. When an individual dies they are no longer legally married so a spouse has no claim to a policy not in their name. At any rate, hire a legal professional and get this straightened out. I couldn't sleep knowing this.

Nothing would make me more angry. Just because something is yours doesn't make it is your wifes. Period. Set up a trust and make sure your death doesn't support this cult. It will cost a little money, but would be worth a piece of mind. You don't even have to tell her. Sure she'll be mad, but you'll be dead and atleast you would know your children have been taken care of.

My wife is fashionable for the both of us. I wear blue jeans and a Columbia PFG shirt almost everywhere. The only way one can distinguish my work and play wear is by the boots and flip flops.

What does money represent to YOU ?
by new hope and happiness infor example does money represent to you power, love, joy and much more or does money represent to you feelings of worry, guilt, anger, sadness.. for myself i have always enjoyed living largely on little, and i can appreciate that the best things in life are free.
having said that i am glad i have been fortunate and sensible enough with money to never have exsperienced the anxiety of debt.
and it may sound silly but i dont think winning it big on the lottery would improve the quality of my life nor my family.

Money is a tool. It is like a hammer. If you know how to use it you can get things you want or need. Simple, when one thinks about money. It is neither good or evil. It is only a tool.

A nice find if you want to dispute the new "Donation" arrangement.
by DATA-DOG ini will probably use this line in my bible highlights tonight!
it's from the 5/1/1950 wt article " a christian use of material wealth.
the money which is contributed by persons who accept the printed bible-study helps from jehovahs witnesses aids quite a bit in keeping the work going.

how long before you felt refreshed and new?
by losingit inwaking up from jw-land is an extremely exhausting process.
about 3 years ago, i attended a month-long institute for grad school students.
during this time, i was surrounded by people from all over the united states and had active, deep conversations with so many about personal topics, such as religion and divorce.

My Experience and how I finally let myself see the truth
by OneEyedJoe infirst off - for those lurkers who feel guilty just for being on this site and reading this (even if you don't read any further, as it is your right to choose that course) i want you to know that you're not alone in what you're going through or in what you are feeling.
if you read on, i hope my experience may be of some small help to you.. this may be long, but i'll try to organize it in a way that doesn't make it painful to read.
to start, i feel it is most beneficial if i'm upfront and honest with my goals from posting this, which are (in order of the degree to which they motivated me):.

The first step here is to breath. In and out slowly and gather your situation.
Step two is do not do anything rash or quick. This may take a while. My wife is so important to me I would do whatever it takes to keep her. I don't know how you feel, but it sounds like you love her. Basically you can rip off the bandaid or you can do it hair by hair. The amazing thing is this is your choice on how to do this. Up until now you might not have much experience in making choices outside of JW rules. I would suggest a lot of thinking before a little action. I'm not telling you what to do, but this is a game off chess. Don't kill your Queen until the time comes. You only have one.
The only way I can help you is to tell you there is a bunch of people somewhere in cyber-space who are on your side here. This is kind of like finding out you have cancer. It can be hard to accept and the treatments may not be fun, but you have options and support. We only want you to be healthy.
Regards,
Defiant.

I'm married and not looking so as a person who found a good mate I'll respond.
Every person in this world has qualities you don't like. If you don't believe me hang around and you will find them. I wouldn't look for the one or two things you hate in an individual. I would look for the person who has the most of your turn ons and not focus on the negativity. I for one hate mouth breathers. I kid you not if I can hear some one breathing it drives me crazy. Guess what! My beautiful wife about two times a year through no fault of her own falls into this line. Drives me nuts. When this time comes I simply look at the positive and move on with life.
I think an earlier poster said they liked people who had a passion for life. So true. I once had a girl friend who I was really into at the time. I bought us a trip to Disney. She said it was her favorite place. The whole time she frowned and was honestly boring. I asked her what was wrong she said, "I did something a week ago that made her angry" so for two days of our trip she walked around in a fog to prove a point. How little of her. I figured if she couldn't move on and have a good time at her favorite place on Earth how would she deal with real life problems. So I bought her a bus ticket home and went to the Keys for the rest of the week. Never looked back. I guess what I'm trying to say is my partner must know how to have a good time. I love having fun. My wife does know how to have fun. She's like Will Ferrel with a nice rack. (She would laugh at that. I'll have to tell her later)
Try and accept honesty it helps so much in this situation. My wife hates, hates, hates the way I eat ribs. I can't help it. Are you kidding me? How can one hold bone wrapped in meat in hand and not go all caveman on the said food? She told me she hates it so I order something else until guys night out. Then we act like cavemen together. Understand every person has turn offs and ever person commits them.
