i found the meetings to be especially boring from the late 1980s on.
before that, we actually tried to make people want to listen.
the meetings were pretty interesting.
I learned that talking in a monotone, saying so little with so many words, can get one praised as a fantastic speaker; while saying something logical or with a little feeling will get you chastised.
I learned that readiing a six word comment out of the WT and adding twelve useless words would get one praised for being so knowlegable; while giving a comment using just your own words will get you chastised.
I learned how to sleep with my eyes open.

Husband cheats, wife is recommended by the elders to stay with him. She sleeps with him but can't bear it, but the elders say she showed forgiveness by sleeping with him so is no longer free to remarry
In my case many years ago it was my ex-wife who cheated, repeatedly. I wanted nothing more to do with her, so followed all the BS rules the sheep shearers spouted out about not having sex blah, blah, blah. Then after only a couple weeks she went and bitched to them about me not having sex with her and said THAT was why she continued f--king around! I was the one who had their ass hauled before the tribunal for refusing the "marriage due"! She was not DF'd, I was! Some years later after I was RI'd I remarried, and both of us were promptly DF'd, because I had not as the , "innocent mate filed for the divorce, but rather she did." They claimed that as such I was not free as I had not been the one to file. Again, it's all about control and who they like! They make the rules up as they stumble along.

the fact that the marriage was not consumated me it does not count as a marriage.
According to a circus oversneer I know, "as long as marriage vows were stated before witnesses it is a valid marriage regardless of whether it was consummated or not."
So IF it is the marraige vows, and not the sexual act which constitutes making the two "one flesh", then not only I, but anyone else should be safe spending the night with another person, living with another of the opposite sex, or whatever...as long as we don't actually do the deed. After all we have not become one flesh via marriage vows, according to WT dogma.
In reality though we all know it isn't logical, fair, or even half-ways consistent. It's all about making examples of the flock in whatever ways fits the agenda of the moment, or whatever axe the eldurrs have to grind with you at the moment. It's all about control!

Well so much for calling themselves the Watchtower BIBLE & Tract Society. Of course the last time I actaully saw a BIBLE study at the KH was.......NEVER!

so, normally if i go to a meeting i sit and don't say a word through the entire ordeal.
however today i just could not keep my big mouth shut.. it was funny that i even got called on....three times none-the-less.
of course 99% of the sheeple just sat with blank looks on their mugs this morning.
Eldurr who tried to call me into the back room (I didn't go) said we would talk outside.
He proceeded to get pretty forceful with his accusations that I was carrying a chip on my shoulder against the GB and the local eldurrs. My last comment was un-called for and he was going to discuss my "evident" lack of respect for authority with the rest of the body. Someone would get back to me later to "discern" what my thoughts and motives are. (Yeah, right!)
I told him I wasn't going to play that game. If they wanted to play they could play with themselves. (He "evidently" didn't get it) I said I was going to cling in my Bible based beliefs that God is the Father and all powerful, Jesus is His son and died so that I might live, and that the Bible was the Word of God. Anything more than that was human interpretation. I saw the prettiest shade of red in his face.
would love to hear comments on what is being said on the paragraph which states that if the wt demands you drink the kool aid, you should do it - even if you don't understand why!.

Most of the very few comments where I am at were all cookie cutter parroting the sentiment that we MUST obey men (eldurrs) as rulers, rather than God. After all they speak for God now, according to the GB.

they are simply more org-fed propaganda for the congregation, and if there happens to be some poor unsuspecting sucker in the audience - so be it!.
