It is the self-centeredness of the organization that did it or me and also the cult following mentality of the people.

Who is your favorite "Apostate"? Who helped you see the truth about "The Truth"?
by minimus ini would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .
and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..

WHAT REASON DOES THE GOVERNING BODY HAVE TO DENY JESUS MEDIATOR-SHIP FOR EVERYONE?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inaguest, jehovah-jirah, lars58, rick fearon, finkle, or another scholars on jwn.
what reason does the governing body have for telling.
seven million jehovah's witnesses, "jesus is not your man dude!

Because the fact is that he is not the mediator for all. Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant for the 144,00 only. Not a GB doctrine, but a biblical one.
Prologos said "The new covenant mediated by Jesus covers all Christians, not just the 144 ooo sealed ones that COME OUT OF the twelve tribes."
Well, yes, the new covenant covers all Christians, but that does not mean Jesus mediates it with all Christians.

What does that mean "cheated on me"? You were playing cards and she had one hidden up her sleeve?

Prayers that God answers. Any examples?
by punkofnice inwhen i believed in god i tried not to pray for anything selfish.. after a while i began to think that a lot of things i was asking my imaginary friend in the sky for were selfish for some reason.. i do not ever remember a single thing i prayed for ever being answered.
if there was the appearance of an answer it was because i did mental gymnastics to make it fit the delusion that god had actually answered me.
there was never an obvious message/answer from god.

I needed postage stamps. prayed and prayed for them.
My wife wanted me to mail some memorial invitations to not at homes. When I got to the post office, I didn't put the stamps she gave me on the letters, but kept them and took off as many stamps as I could without messing them up and recycled the letters.
Jehovah provided me with stamps that I needed for something useful.

Did you feel pushed into pioneering?
by Xanthippe inso i have been replying to letters from a jw friend who suddenly started writing to me after i've been out for nearly 25 years.. i have mentioned things like the poverty that pioneering causes from my own experience, worrying about having enough money to buy food.. i also said that the scrimping would have been worth it if we had been saving to buy a home or go on lovely holidays.. instead we ended up with nothing materially and we were living in a tiny rented flat when we left.. when i think of all the places i wanted to visit with my husband but couldn't because we were pioneering and had no money and now it is too late because my husband has died at the age of 54. we did get to visit some beautiful places but we ran out of time.. what i was trying to say to her was - life's too short.
stop waiting for the new system, get on with your life.
stop exhausting yourself in that religion.

Many people say that work takes them from pioneering. What if one were to get an inheritance, or win the lottery (without admitting it). People will say that they should pioneer. I say no way.

Did the Apostle Paul teach and believe in the "bodily reserrection of Christ" doctrine?
by booker-t ini often encounter trinitarians that say all of the apostles believed in the bodily reserrection of christ.
they often point to isolated verses in the bible where jesus is called a "man" after his reserrection and this they believe is proof positive.
the seem to throw out all of the verses in the new testament that shows jesus arose "in the spirit" (1 pet 3:18).

This whole bodily resurrection makes no sense. They just take things literally too much without thinking.
How could he take his body to heaven? When asked that they say it is a glorifed body.

When did the Last Days start in the first century
by wizzstick ini've been reading coc and rf highlights that luke 21:28 says: "but as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.".
i'm thinking on how no one who saw the start of these things is alive from 1914. as a comparison point, does anyone know when the wt suggests the last days started in the first century?.
was it when jesus said the above?.

In other words, what was the first day of the last days?

Do you think that "Born Agains" will eventually abandon the "Hellfire" doctrine?
by booker-t ini have talked to christians for years on this subject and they all seem more confused then ever.
some born agains have a hard time reconciling hellfire damnation with jehovah's loving personality.
the two just can't mix.

I wish "Born Agains" would abandon the "Born Again" doctrine.
