The problem I see is: Why do we have to follow what the apostles said?
Who named them leaders?
when my son became baptized as a witness at age nine, it worried me that he could now get a no blood card.
i wanted to make sure if blood transfusions were really as disgusting to "jehovah" as i was taught.
i already found out some things about my beliefs that were not true, so it wasn't hard for me to be questionable about this.. i first looked in the reasoning book under blood as to why we don't accept transfusions.
The problem I see is: Why do we have to follow what the apostles said?
Who named them leaders?
just got an email from elder sharing illustration from assembly.
the holy spirit does not seem to be in control as it supposedly was in the 1st century.
it's just lube now.
It hasn't helped my Megamillions numbers come up.
If the holy spirit was of any use, it would help the needed win sufficient so they wouldn't be needy.
dear jw,.
on october 2, 1914a hundred years ago todaycharles t. russell announced, the gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day.
for almost 40 years, among other predictions for that year, 1914 had been looked to as the end of armageddon, false religion, and all governments, and the beginning of paradise on earth and the resurrection.
October 1 1914. Whatever happened to not knowing the day or hour or month or year?
"those who are taking the lead among you"
Simple. Don't be among them and it won't apply.
that same question applies to catholics, jews, islamists, baptists and so on.
.
just because you belong to a religion, does it mean you espouse every idea that they have ever presented?.
I don't believe anything that any one teaches. especially doctors, lawyers and religionists.

"take for example a christian couple in asia.
in their younger years, they admired those who could afford to own a house.
So, if they sell, where will they live? Apartment? Rent is more than house payments.
the recent circuit assembly day cost get this... $17,0000 in an assembly hall that they own!
this was announced during the assmbly at the 3/4 mark of days activities.
after he said how much the assembly cost, he then proceeded to say that we have recieved $6,000 in donations up to this point of the day.
It is a franchise fee
i have thoroughly researched the watchtower doctrine of 1914, and am convinced it is neither biblically or historically correct.
but every now and then i wonder how ironic it is that world war 1 did start in that year, also pestilence and famine perused.
maybe, just maybe the witnesses are correct.
"I have thoroughly researched the Watchtower doctrine of 1914, and am convinced it is neither biblically or historically correct."
No you have not thoroughly researched it.
And it is biblically and historically correct.
"Watchtower time prophecy of 2,520 years and apply it to the true historical date when Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians; 586/587 b.c.e.."
If you thoroughly researched it, you would understand that the 7 times does not start at the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians. It starts when the kings in the line of David lose their sovereignty. That happened in 607 though Jerusalem fell in 587. They continue to hold that 607 was the fall
of Jerusalem because if they change it, it would be too embarassing.
"Now to be clear, I do not believe in the 2,520 year time prophecy. It is not in the scriptures or in history"
Yes, it is. Otherwise how can it be explained that the kings in the line of David stopped servicing on Jehovah's Throne when the prophesy of Nathan
said they would. How can it be explained that Jesus did not become king when he was on earth.
Here's an idea. Open up your mind to more than what The Watchtower teaches.
wt 7/15/2014....page 27...question # 17...what will we consider in the next article...paragraph 17...but how can we be jehovah witnesses and at the same time be witnesses of jesus....well well well...i think they really got the point...all through the greek scriptures, that's what jesus has been saying...we are to witness about him....in the hebrews scriptures was about jehovah god, most of the world got that.
now jehovah, put another spoke in the wheel his son...jesus...that's who paul has been talking about all along...that he was witness of jesus, paul knew who god was.
i think the society monitors sites like these & others & found out....they may have been, uh...wrong....wonder how are they going to spin this one off....i won't read the next article just yet... comments anyone ..... legacy.
Blondie: "If it was so important, why can the concept, "Jehovah's witnesses" or "witnesses of Jehovah" not be found in the NT......."
Right. Paul was such a quoter of the prophecies, why didn't he quote that and refer it.
or the 2000's generation thing?.
how did you feel?
how did it help you wake up?
I wish I had stumbled over that and the Sheep and goats change when I was single and not married a Witness.
Unfortunately the internet was in its beginning stages and information was not as available.
