The Last Days of a Pioneer

i am starting a new topic since this blog entry is about something different.. i have posted before about my recent split with the jws.

no exit comes out of nowhere and there were seeds planted long before this.

i have never enjoyed field service.

The only thing that I liked about field service was the indepth stuff. Arguing the trinity and who go to heaven and other doctrinal material. I never wanted a Bible study because I can't imagine myself sitting across from someone and telling them to read this paragraph and then to answer this question, and then to tell them how to live their lives and then having them do the questions for baptism.

About 10 years ago I just stopped doing it because I just don't care about these random people we are meeting at the doors.

The problem with universal health care is that there is no money in it or for it.

So it runs slowly.

And it is rife for abuse. If anyone can go in and get free healthcare, what reason would they have to take care of themselves?

Regional Convention Attendance

elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).

he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.

co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

These are not Regional or District conventions.

They are 3 day circuit assemblies. They are using Assembly Halls and small city centers city arenas and not big stadiums. It's all about cost savings.

so the end was going to come by 2000 as documented in the magazines back in the late 80's early 90's.. so how did they get the time off so badly ( over two decades and still nothing) since the gb is jehovah's earthly mouthpiece right ?

The end was never forecast in 1914, 1925, 1975 or 2000.

Is Bible chronology true?

according to jw interpretation of bible chronology, the earliest human, adam, came into existence some 6,048 years ago compared to scientific dating of human fossils believed to be much older.

since jesus validated the creation of adam and eve as historical people and jc’s own lineage is traced all the way back to adam, bible chronology is certified as true and there must be something wrong with scientific dating.

what proves scientific dating as accurate that humans are much older than what bible chronology says?.

I agree that carbon dating is BS. Scientists will just grab on to anything to support their atheism.

Is 1914 still a major belief in JW land ? Or has it been abandoned ?

No, 1914 is not the cornerstone of Jw belief.

The cornerstone of Jw belief is Jesus Christ.

Jesus said that at the time of the harvest the weeds would separate from the wheat. That's what makes 1914 relevant to the religion. The Faithful slave existed since Pentecost, not 1919.

But other than that JWs are just Christians who look to the Bible.

There is no "the great crowd".

John sees in a vision 144,000 then he sees a large number of people that he could have described many different ways but he uses the Greek words that have been rendered 'great crowd'.

Sea breeze. You list the early church teachers along with the apostles. I don't hold credibility to the apostles. That's one problem that the WTS has always done. They base doctrine and rules on what the apostles said. If the apostles were the Governing Body, why do we have letters from Peter, Paul, James, John and Jude, rather than writings from the 'Governing Body' composed of the apostles?

Rather than use any of the apostolic scriptures, I choose something that has no writing. The temple.

The Temple was given by Jehovah as a model, a shadow, a lesson, in earthly terms of what is in the heaven.

A priest offers a sacrifice to Jehovah God. All of that forshadowed Jesus being the priest and the sacrificed that was offered to Jehovah God. Thus Jesus can not be Jehovah God if he is the priest and the sacrifice.
