  Men...what do you look for in a woman?

  so we had the woman version.

  let it rip guys - what type of woman makes you just want to get her know her better - the one that makes you take that risk and walk on over to start a conversation?.

  Ok,I'll bite ...

  Physical appearance lights the early interest. Doesn't have to be a model, but must send the message "I take good care of myself ; I like to stay attractive ; I have a decent level of self-esteem; I have good taste.". Hair, eyes and lips are the main physical traits I look at.

  Once that spark has been lit, come the personality traits that I consider most attractive:

  Being down-to-earth and laid back. Being intelligent. Having a good sense of humor, while keeping the good taste. Having strenght of character - honesty and loyalty. Not being afraid of displaying affection and accept it when is given to her. Being supportive and compassionate.

  Having a knack for artistry and being a neat, organized person are a BIG plus.

  this has been the sentiment of a few i know who have been full jws for decades.

  they say the love is not there like it used to be, and it's become less personal.. anyone heard similar comments from oldies?.

  we know the 'truth' ain't the truth in the first place, but i have a feeling there may be a lot of older ones hanging on just because it's all they've ever known, and it the alternative, that there is no paradise around the corner like they've always been taught us unthinkable..

  Instead of saying: "You, the "other sheep" have been promoted to "domestics", along with the anointed. Rejoyce!"

  It must be understood as: "You, self-appointed anointed, are no better than any lowly rank-and-file JW. Therefore, submit and obey, or else!"

  page 8 of the latest wt (insider version) has a whole page dedicated to the question whether it is appropriate to sit next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings.. not sure how to paste this in, but check jw.org.

  perhaps someone can do this for me.. horrible, no words really on how pharisee like their cult grip and control has become!.

  first of all, without any shame they are talking about disfellowshipped minors.

  It seems to me that the GB has been paving the way with "doctrine" that will enable to mass-disfellowship all the anointed that dare to defy or even question their leadership. It's pure power-grab.

  1 corinthians 15:4-6 "[jesus] was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, and that he appeared to cephas, and then to the twelve.after that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time".. .

  acts 1:15 - "in those days peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty)" .... acts 2:1 - "when the day of pentecost came, they were all together in one place...".

  Acts 2:7 -" Utterly amazed, they asked: "Aren't all these who are speaking Galileans?"After the resurrection of Christ, he appeared to a group of 500+ disciples, presumably in Galilea. Just a few days later, now in Jerusalem, there were only 120 (?) disciples gathered for Pentecost. Where were the other 380 disciples ? Have they received the Holy Spirit?

O'Brien is Rutherford, Knorr and Franz all rolled into one mashup; INGSOC is "the Truth"; The Times is the Watchtower Magazine and other publications; The disfellowshipped and dissociated people are UNPERSONS; The "news" from the Ministry of Plenty are the Yearbooks; The interrogation cells within the Ministry of Truth are the Judicial Comitees. The Thought Police are the overzealous, self-righteous, company-men Elders and CO's.

  While I was reading 1984, it struck me very deeply that the Party was the Organization, lead by the semi-mythological Big Brother, the Governing Body; The Inner Party was the Brooklyn Establishment; The Outer Party are the DO, CO, Elders, MSs; The Proles are the R&F Witnesses; The "enemy" is "the worldy-wicked system", lead by Satan; Goldstein is the semi-fabled epythom of the apostates and Goldstein's Book is the apostate literature; Newspeak is the "theocratic lexicon"; and the list goes on ...

  The thing that impressed me most was the ability of the Party to re-write the past: He who controls the past, controls the future. He who controls the present, controls the past.

  The Watchtower's constant re-writing of its own history and the "new light" that obliterates from memory the "old light" is absolutely Orwellian. To the detail of vaporizing the memory of those who became dissidents from our records. Thank God for the internet and people like Barbara Anderson.
