no meetings this week
by missy04 ini feel kind of silly posting next to you guys who were in the organization for much longer, like i know what i'm talking about or something, lol, i don't.. but i think it's really sad..all of these people, mostly really good people, who spend their whole lives or at least alot of it trying to do things..field service, studying, giving talks, giving up good jobs, ect.
for this religion.
i am really sad that i can't just save 'em from it.. i haven't been to any meetings this week and i think i finally might have the guts to tell them i'm done.. wow, it must have been realllllyyyy hard for all those who have family in the org.

Hey Missy, what has caused you to want to leave? I mean, YAY! do it, I was just wondering. Have you read anything about the org, like Crisis of Conscience, or anything like that? I will pray for your friend tonight, and that she will stick with you,and maybe eventually you can talk some sense into her. I am not surprised to hear of her depression- it is pretty rampant in the org. If you ever need to chat, feel free to email me. John 5:24 Unclepenn

Here is an example
Everything Bad Fault Of Rumsfeld
Scientists have found Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, genetically culpable for every contrary event and effect in modern history, including morbid obesity, the Philadelphia Phillies' 23 game losing streak in 1959 and Carrot Top.
Studies revealed even more daunting scenarios as the Rumsfeld-effect not only results from direct contact, but that second-hand liason with the Secretary of Evil can cause severe conservative conjunctivitis. Los Angeles restaurants and bars have recently banned Rumsfeld, and any talk of Rumsfeld, except for restricted outdoor areas. -

What grammatical errors bug you the most?
by poppers infor me it's the use of : .
it's as a possessive - it's means "it is", so if you don't want to say "it is" don't use the apostrophe.
there are others that bug me but this one is the worst.

I really hate it when people confuse 'loose' and 'lose'. For example- I need to loose some weight before I fit into those pants. or I hope our team doesnt loose the basketball game today., Drives me nuts!

Watchtower Lies
by Unclepenn1 ina jw i have been debating with (who is df'd by the way) gave me the go ahead to send to him what i would consider times where the wt has lied or been totally dishonest with the membership, or just in general.
does anyone have any clear cut quotes from the wt that are obviously deceptive?
i already sent him a lot of info about 1874/1914, and also about some other stuff.

Thank you guys so much. Unfortunately, he is laughing off everything I have shown him thus far. It is not looking too good. Oh well, I guess the head in the sand is more comfortable for some.

Thanks Purple. I have been there quite a bit. I need something that I am unable to find there, at least from what I have read. Anything clear, to the point, obvious?

"Truth or Consequences" is a great book!
by Dogpatch in"truth or consequences" is my story about the good and bad times in the watchtower organization.
it is my hope this story will help others know what motivates a person to join a cult and what motivates a person to leave.. "truth or consequences" is a true love story of two young people who faced many obstacles as they proved their love for each other before they became jehovah's witnesses.
they believed their love and loyalty for the watchtower organization was the only way to show their love for god.

I just finished the book on Sunday. I thought it was great. I like the fact that it wasnt about exposing doctrine, although those books are important as well. It is a love story, and one that everyone here can relate to in some form, I am sure. Great job Roy!
