That's not necessarily true. I was baptised at 7 and had already been involved in sex with a cousin. Not bragging, just stating a fact.

i picked up the bible while the site was down and this is the first thing i read:.
"for what is the hope of an apostate in case he cuts [him] off, in case god carries off his soul from him?
job 27:8 .

It doesn't sound too good for us apostates as you read what will happen to him futher down.

once upon a time, i can remember gb member gangas asking prepared questions at the lunch table - to show how smart he supposedly.
i can remember knorr not keeping track of critical needs supporting bible production - and boring all of us with his windy, cold hearted.
judgements at breakfast.
If they are as dumb as they seem how did they accumlate so much property and followers? They were smarter than me for several decades until I just got tired of all the requirements and quit. Of course being smarter than me wasn't too hard for them.

jw's teach that jesus began ruling from heaven 'invisibly' in 1914. if no one knows the day or the hour the son of man will arrive - then how is it justified that jesus began his 'invisible ruling' from heaven in 1914?
doesn't that mean he's already arrived?
*confused*
The real question that I need answering was he here the first time as a son of God? If he was the primary spirt son of God in heaven did God have to kill him for it to be possible to transfer him as a sperm to Mary's egg? How could he be the son of David if God impregnated Mary? Maybe he froze David's sperm and used it, nope, then he wouldn't have been God's perfect son of man, since he had to be equal to Adam as a sacrifice. It all seems like a bunch of BS to me.

just curious--do all gb members profess to be "anointed?
" are they all claim to be members of the "faithful and discreet slave class?
last night at my kh we had a "local needs" part.
When I was the PO of the congregation I never questioned anything.
How if we don't understand or don't quite agree with something that comes from the GB, we should do it anyways and trust them implicitly and obey and not lean on our own understanding
Whatever they said I followed in the congregation, but outside I did almost whatever I wanted to.

after realizing how wrong they are either stupid, braindead, or in denial.
you agree????
?
About as right as anyone else who thinks they have the right religion. It's all in your head, you can make about as many religions as you want from the bible.
If it makes you happy then it's right for you.

i think i would be a bit of a scruff pine.. i hold my place well, weather the storms with deep roots.
i am not as stately as some of my brethren trees.
i don't make the cover of "tree monthly".
I'm a tree that hears the chain saws comming.

would you still be a jw if you had not been disfellowshipped?
.
Just faded away 30 years ago.

anyone here who was removed from volunteering on the rbc?.
or did you remove someone yourself?.
a recent km announcement said that everyone on the rbc list of volunteers had to be updated.
I went to the quick build of the local KH but I didn't do anything, I just talked to a few old friends and left.

I did help build a local church but I can't remember what I actually did.
as an atheist, i feel like i am coming to terms with my mortality.
one day i will die, just like the beasts of the field.
it has lead me to think about the whole concept of religion, a personal god, one who approves or disapproves of our individual actions.
I'm beginning to accept death also, but still I would like to know why we are here. What is the purpose of life other than making more life. How did everything get started, or when even. I can't perceive time not having a beginning. I think we must have been designed and created by something, but where did that something come from? I'm beginning to think religion does have a place in life but it also has created so much suffering and death that I don't trust it. I guess I will go to my grave wondering about all this stuff.
