If we are what we are what makes people so different? What causes some to be loving, others mean and wicked and everywhere in between? Are we just a material being or do we have a spirit? If we have a spiritual part when do we get it, at conception or at birth and where does it come from?

If we came from evolution, how did a male and a female develop at the same time to produce offspring? It's all too confusing for me, maybe I should just have faith in something and be satisfied with that. I think I will go watch TV and believe what I see.

Does God need worship and love from other entities? It seems so by the way he made intelligent creatures. If they are to be accepted as his children they must conform to his designated way of life and thinking. Just look at mankind today because Adam made a mistake in his thinking, they are sick physically and mentally and die after a few years here. Of course he is going to fix things very soon now by making all men perfect like Adam was before he failed. I don't see how that will solve anything since it didn't work with Adam or the Devil and demons before they went astray.

The bibles way of explaining anything doesn't make sense to me. Am I just thinking too much or should I just have blind faith in something?

Intellectual bullies- have you come across them?

i recently posted on a thread and couldn`t believe the amount of intellectual bullies on there.

i was a jw for 25 years, left school 35 years ago and they expected me to know all the info on evolution, and because i didn`t i`m `stupid`.

i prefer to believe in creation, but it is obviously too simple an explanation for them.

As far as creation goes, Moses figured it all out. He knew the names of everyone from Adam and Eve, even how long it took to create the whole universe. Of course everyone makes mistakes, even God. Look at his angels, some were good but the Devil came from him too. Was that a mistake or did he want the whole creation to go bad like it did? Either we are an experiment that he enjoys watching or he doesn't care. He took perfection from us with Adam and we have been going down hill ever since. Of course he is going to fix everything very soon now, in this generation(whatever that is) by killing everybody that isn't a JW and resurrecting those fortunate enough to die before then and giving them a second chance.

All you have to do to understand his purpose is read Revelation, it's all there, revealed to John so we would know all about what God is going to do in the end times.

When I watch some of those TV shows where the contestants answer questions I feel stupid, unless they have been given the answers before the program started. Of course most of the question are about stuff I don't care about . Most of the discussions on this board arn't intellectual anyway, just how we feel about things, our opinions. At least mine arn't.

Lost a Good Friend Today

the former owner of the newspaper i work for died today of cancer.

he was a tall, handsome man just past 50, with a great smile and sense of humor.

he hired me to work here four years ago, and we had a great time together.

I know how you feel, it's bad to lose a good friend to death. I was fortunate, my lifelong friend recovered from a bad heart attack after over a month in the hospital and is now doing OK at home. I hate death and how it makes you feel. You will miss him the rest of your life but just remember the good times you enjoyed together and it will get better.

News about the end at the yearly business meeting

that's right folks, the fds in convinced that we are so deep into the end of the system of things they feel it will happen at any moment.. it's funny that this should be taken serious since this sort of thing has been said many times in the past.

however, many of those at that meeting are so drawn in that they believe it as if they saw god himself speak it.. this came from someone who attended, perhaps someone else has direct quotes or other tidbits they can share with us.

When a Jehovah`s Witness comes to your Door

when a jehovah`s witness comes to your door..do you tell them to go away and close the door?..chat with them untill they run away?..toss them on the bbq and have everyone over for dinner?

I know 90% of them and I just talk for a few minutes about what they have been up to lately. They very seldom mention anything scriptual. It's usually about family etc.
