  Did Fred Franz?

  at the service meeting this week it was mentioned that fred franz was very educated and spoke 6,7 languages.

  and was able to give 1.5 hrs talks without an outline and quote all the scriptures from memory.. i heard that about him for the last 30 years.. is it true or just a mith?

  anyone know more about it?.

  When I was a JW I heard he had a photographic memory and could remember all the old issues of the WT. page by page.

  A question for all Whisky drinkers.

  hello chumz on the board.

  nothing really to do with jwism but who prefers the american 'bourbon' type such as 'wild turkey', 'jim beam' etc or who prefers a fine single malt scotch such as 'glenfiddich' or 'glenmorangie'?

  i am not trying to stir up nationalism with this question but am just genuinely curious.. lfcv.

  I like a good bootleg in a quart jar. Don't see it much anymore. Some whisky makers out in the woods did a good job. It was illegal but it was good. I'm not much of a drinker but I remember back when I was a JW I did more drinking.

  through out my witness life i have always believed that when the partakers at memorial went up that means.

  that some of the anoited were unfaithful and had to be replaced.

  i have beleived this for 40 years.

  It's all about some feeling some JW has that he(or she) is called to be a bride in heaven. The increase my be the result of some food additive that caused this feeling in more JWs.

  i work about 15 minutes from enterprise, ala. i had taken my jw roommate to the greyhound station in dothan so she could go home for a week (she has epilepsy and can't drive).

  when i was coming back through enterprise, i stopped to eat lunch and the tornado crossed the highway about a quarter mile from me.

  i was about to leave and walked outside and looked up and you could see it coming.

  This loving God that many people talk about designed the weather this way but it's your fault if you happen to be where it happens.

  It must be terrible to expierence this and I feel sorry for the people who lost loved ones, but since God controlls the weather I just blame him. Well maybe there were bad people living there like me and he got his revenge.

  "there is an irresistible quality to the story about al gore's energy hungry tennessee home, replete with a heated poolhouse that burns more natural gas--$500/month worth--than most of us can afford to use while heating houses that shelter people, as opposed to swimming lanes.

  did you know that mr. gore's house uses more electricity in a month than the average household does in a year?.

  Religion and Insanity

  recently i have been reading a book, nearly done now, called "under the banner of heaven".

  it is about some fundamental mormons (the ones who practice polygamy andwho are not accepted as lds among regular members of the slc based church.. in this book, while explaining the attempted insanity plea for a fundy lds murderer, they had several psychiatrists (both lds and non lds) explaining insanity.

  the argument i thought was interesting was when the defense brought up his very unorthodox beliefs (they sounded nutty to me-and would be considered so by most lds folks also).

  To not be insane you also must have a book written about what you believe by some insane person who has had a dream or some inspired experience that he believes was by some God. Now everyone else is going to be killed by this God because he doesn't believe this insane person's revelation. Then you wait for thousands of years for this book to be fulfilled or you just die like everyone else and get your reward invisibly. You know you are right by some feeling you have that proves you are insane.

  have you ever thought about the manipulation of our food by the food manufacturers/restauranters?

  how they add artificial flavours to make something taste what it is not?

  Can any religion be authentic? How can anyone prove any religion is the true one, or if there is any true religion? It all seems to be faith, something you make up in your mind and believe without proof.

  Why so many "qualifications"

  if jesus could find someone at work(matt 9:9; mark 1:16-21) and ask them to be a follower without having to go over 164,000 questions(just kidding a little bit) to see if they qualify to be a publisher of the good news, why do jw's do this?

  the same for baptism; the ethiopian eunoch did not, according to scripture, go over a bunch of questions to be baptized, so why?

  The first time I was baptised I was 7 years old, the second time I was 23, don't remember any questions and the third time I slipped of the dock and fell in the water. It all was about the same thing, I just got wet.

  i don't know what wether the watchtower is going to implode or the begining of ww3 is about to happen.
