Hi Gratitude, welcome to the only place I can find so many different views of religion and don't feel like I must agree with any of them to be accepted.

I've gone to several churches and like you the trinity makes me feel that the religions are just a way to make people feel they know God but it's just a bunch of crock. When the preacher says God was hanging on a cross so he could forgive us from a sin some Adam did thousands of years ago it just doesn't make sense. If he wanted us all to be in heaven why didn't he put us there to in the beginning? Why would a loving God put us in a burning hell forever if we don't believe something that doesn't make any sense?

Someone has to just get Him pissed off and the end is comming soon. He didn't prophecy the flood years in advance. He just gets mad and you better watch out.

I've been asked to explain the Trinity...............

a jw friend of mine asked me what the trinity means to me and how i can use the bible to explain it.

why others think it is so important.. i understand that this could be a baiting technique to try to pull me into a debate, but in another aspect, i think she really could be wondering about it.

lately she has appeared a little disgruntled with the wts.

this time, the transatlantic alliance has nothing to be proud of, according to a unicef report on the wellbeing of children in 21 industrialized countries.

How many remember the 1969 8 day convention?

anybody remember the 8 day 1969 international convention.

i was at the braves stadium in atlanta all 8 days with a sunburn and then wet clothes after the rain storms.

if you were there (not necessarily in atlanta) do you remember anything about it?

I can't remember for sure but I think it was Kansas City. The only thing I can remember was a young sister playing the piano during the time off for dinner. She was doing such a great job with clasical music. I drove an old 65 Ford from NC and it had an A/C, the first car I had with one and it was so good to be cool with the windows up. I was married to my first JW wife and we really enjoyed our life then. I was 33 . We stayed in a hotel. Time sure changes things.

How much have you changed since you left the JWs..........

the reason that i ask this question is for two reasons mainly.. firstly, my experience as a jw and within the various congregations i was part of, was that they were a very mixed bag.

there were those who were very devout, studious and appeared to be very humble and placid in nature.

there were those that were very judgemental of others.

Not much. I always had worldly friends that I respected and enjoyed being around. I also had JWs who I enjoyed being with. I don't feel so overloaded with theocratic duties now that I don't go to any meetings or do any service or believe any of the new or old light. I just live my life and enjoy whatever I can, regardless of wheither the borg likes it or not.
