I have never seen anyone who wanted to go there, they all go to doctors and try to stay alive as long as they can. I don't think anyone really believes they will end up there, otherwise why would they try to stay here on earth as long as they can?

they say they believe jesus christ is "a god" as john 1:1 in the nwt teaches.
they even call christ "mighty god".
(notice no small "m").
All you have to do is say this means that and this means that other and it's in a spiritual sense and is symbolic or a parable and applies to that group or the other and it's all written by holy spirit, so if you are not in a spiritual trance you want understand it properly, but all you have to do is have faith and it will all be taken care of.

Haven't you heard? The trinity is a mystery but God is God and Christ is God and the Holy Spirit is God and yet there are not three Gods but only one God. When Jesus was baptized God spoke out of the clouds, the holy spirit God was a dove and the man God was Jesus.
So this God became a man, then sacrificed himself to himself so he could forgive us humans of something that some man did thousands of years before we were born. All we have to do is believe that crap and we will have everlasting life somewhere(new earth or maybe new heaven) but if we don't we will be tormented with fire forever by this loving God. It's all so simple.

im a republican, and have always voted for republican candidates for president, this upcoming election leaves me very little choice.
this may be the first presidential election since 1996 that i wont vote, nor can i even get excited over.. .
How many people that vote really understand what the person they vote for is really about? They lie and say whatever they think the voters want to hear. I've never heard a ligitiment reason why the soldiers are staying in Iraq. What about the immagration problem that is draining the medicare dry? There has got to be some reason why it isn't being handled. Some agreement between Bush and the president of Mexico??? Maybe I just don't understand politics or maybe see it for really what it is.

I've never voted in my life, all politicians seem like a bunch of self serving rich nuts who only care about their supporters who donated money. I worked for a data processing company in DC years ago and I did some reports for the government. One was contributions to congressmen and you wouldn't believe the amount of money individuals give to them. I wish I had noticed the total amount, I just noticed how much paper it printed out and some of the contributions, like $5000.00 from some people.

though many millions are still under the spell of ignorance-inducing belief-systems, have you personally noted people in your day-to-day to be less and less involved in religion?.
that's been my experience.
it gives me great hope about the future of humanity.
I've noticed that there are are not many cars in the parking lots of churches around here now, except for a few big churches that appeal to rich people. They build gymns for the children to play in.

looking at the thread on dates for the big-a reminded me that i've wanted to ask this question of a jw.
sometime one's going to come to my door and go on their thing about how we get to live in paradise and it's coming soon etc.
so my question is: what difference does it make when it gets here?
Where in the bible, especially in the Hebrew scriptures does it seem that love of God is the main trait of worshipers rather than fear of him. How can you love someone who says if you don't follow my every whim I will kill you. An example, eating a piece of fruit means you will die and everyone of your children will too. It's kind of hard to love someone like that.
And what about Christendom and their hell fire forever deal? The way religion protrays God doesn't make him seem a God of love. I'm beginning to wonder if religion isn't a bad thing for God's image.
