I just got feed up with all the task I had as PO, and several other positions in the congregation. My JW wife divorced me without any explaination, so I just faded out and remarried a worldly woman with two kids that I had known for several years. Her husband died a couple of years before we got married. I didn't care if it was the truth, I wanted to enjoy my current life and I have done that since. SInce comming on this JWD discussion board and reading C of C I have seen the true light that kept getting brighter and dimmer as time goes on. I am now looking out in the sky to see if anything is out there we can talk to, so far no answer has come back.

My life used to be so non-stuff! (Guy-grumping)

when i was a bachelor, i had a very simple life: a bed, a tv, a computer, a stereo, and a couch.

no storage rooms, no closets full of stuff: everything i owned was straightforward and functional.. now?

well, bikerchic is having me haul around all these boxes and totes and piles of stuff for christmas, and i swear we must have about 47,000 tons of stuff that even she doesn't know where some of the stuff came from.. it must be genetic.. .

Welcome to this crazy discussion board. You will find all kinds of ideas discussed here by all kinds of people. It's quite interesting at times. There are many kind, careing people here. Don't expect it to clear up your questions of life, I don't think there is an answer that can be proven in any way as positively TRUTH. We just have to chose whatever keeps us at peace with ourselves. I'm in no no land, but I'm still looking after 30 years. Have fun here.

As a teenager what was your 1st car

i got my car from an elderly sis from my congo and it only had 52000mi and its a subaru gl-10 wagon '88 it looks just like this.

1950 Chev. 2 door coop. for $275 with 35.000 miles. I customized it, had it painted, twin exhaust. Really loved that car. Traded it for a 53 6 cyl ford and put an Oldsmobile motor in it. Drove it to California twice. Wish I could live those days again.

Off to a NON-Thanksgiving meal with the JW parents

When I was a kid the family had a meal(turkey and all) but didn't call it thanksgiving. It was usually at my aunts house. Sometimes we would visit my non-JW grandma and eat with them. I still enjoyed the meal, whatever it was called.

I went to church last night with my wife and they passed out the emblems(grape juice and some small crakers) I felt like a JW as I didn't take part in it. I just sat there and passed it on. I told my wife I would partake when they used real wine. I just can't believe a God would require people to celebrate the death of his son. It all seems so far from reality. Why would it make him forgive someone to do that. He made us the way we are, imperfect and so sinfull. We had nothing to do with it, we were just born into the world the way it is. I don't know why I keep going, although I do enjoy being with the people there, they seem sincere and loving and my wife likes me to go with her, also my daughter and husband goes to the same church and I like seeing them. Will I ever get SAVED? I doubt it.

Raking Leaves

just got in from raking leaves.

it will be spring before they all fall off the oak trees in my yard.

maybe i should have them all cut down.

I had two oak trees in my front yard untill lightning struck one and killed it. It split it and blew parts of it across the street. My wife and daughter were about 40 feet from it when it struck. It burned the phone line completely out of metal, all the way to the street. It also burned out my oven, my TV and my furnance motor. It didn't damage the house wiring but burned a strip down the side of the house where the telephone line was. My other daughter was on the phone and she threw it down, the phone line was grounded outside so it didn't give her an electrical shock. There was a little pin oak not far from where the old oak was and now it's about 40 feet tall. It happened about 20 years ago.

Trees have been a part of my life that I remember since childhood.

Just got in from raking leaves. It will be spring before they all fall off the oak trees in my yard. Maybe I should have them all cut down. I like the shade too much for that, and I love trees, just not the raking leaves. Maybe I should just leave nature alone and let them stay where they are and I wouldn't have to mow in the summer. Am I getting lazy or old, or maybe both?

I never understood why he would give his daughters to save the supposedly angels of God. Why didn't God do his part and protect his agents? Doesn't make sense to me. Well maybe, since God likes people to sacrifice to him, even his own son according to bible legend.

A Christian we could all learn from.....

i just watched a movie about william wilberforce, who i had no prior knowledge of, great movie, amazing grace and given the large amount of debate lately on here regarding christianity versus atheisim, i thought what better example of someone who's religious beliefs drove him to make improvements for all of mankind.

i am not a christian, but i think if we all tried to more humanitarian like this man, only good could come from it .

he is someone to me, that embodies all that christanity should be, by his actions.. perhaps he would have become the same man, without christianity, perhaps not.

Humanity is a screwed up bunch of animals. People will follow whatever is feed to them by someone that gets a special leadership position for centuries. They are always fighting wars against nations, tribes, and sometimes familes. The bible seems to describe this type of behavior all through the Hebrew writings. I don't think it will ever stop. I sure hope I'm wrong on that part.

I'm having a bad feeling that the human race is facing a tragic natural calamity. Something like global warming, volcanic eruption, asteriod strike, in a few years. Maybe I've been watching the Discovery channel to often on TV. Maybe the belief of a new perfect earth would be better.

I think I've just got depression lately.
