  Thanks for the happy birthday wishes. It's been a good day so far. One of the ladies at church gave me a BD card and there was $5.00 in it. I needed it to bowl with the old cogers Monday, I am broke right now. My daughter gave me a $35.00 WalMart gift card. My wife and I are going to a church dinner at the fellowship hall later today, my brother and his wife are comming too. We just have a good time, not too much preaching about religion, we just enjoy being together.

  I go to church to just listen and think about God and religion, my wife thinks maybe I will someday get saved. I keep asking questions to her, like today when I asked how old Jesus was when he realized he was God? Things like in the old testament about every other verse God is mad with the Jews and kills many of them and in a few more verses he is killing their opposers. It seems God is a very angry spirit and can't be satisfied with any of us very long.

  Can't remember too well. I turned 72 today and my brain is going out on me. I went R/C flying with my brother, shoping with my wife, walking around the block, played games on the computer, watched TV.

  Do you still pray?

  i was wondering about this the other day before i went to sleep, out of habit and my spiritual beliefs now, i spoke to the spiritual realm above and asked for guidance and protection.. i remember my journey of leaving the jw "borg" (a new term i have picked up here - i like it!

  ) and at first i refused to pray at all, and then i wasn't sure i wanted to or not, and then i developed my own sense of the higher power above and spirituality and every night before i sleep, i feel blessed to have another day of life, to do it all again.

  even on days when i am not having such a good day, i take time to ask the higher realm for strength and direction.

  Not much. I'm really trying to figure out if there is really a God and why and if he created the universe. It's really hard to see how complicated life is without some type of creator but I just feel lost for answers.

  this drama opens with a typical jw family after their weekly watchtower study.

  the son asks a question regarding how many people will be destroyed during armageddon and how long it will last and the proceeds to give statistics for how many will have to die per day if it lasts for one year!

  HI there,

  I went to my last assembly in 1973 in Pa. I don't remember the drama but I remember the Jackson family sitting in front of me. I had just been divorced by my JW wife. I drove up there by myself in my 65 Ford mustang. Seems so long ago. I guess 35 years is a pretty long time.

  I saw one of my JW friends that I knew in my teens. He had moved there. I haven't seen or heard of him since.

  A crazy dream I had a while back.

  it's weird because i haven't had anything to do with the jws for years now, but i still dream about going to the kh very occasionally.

  the last time i dreamed about going there, there was apparently going to be a special meeting where some hugely important news was going to be announced, and my mom begged me to come with her, until i finally caved.

  this is weird in itself, because she hasn't had anything to do with the jws for years either, although i think it's possible she could relapse.. anyway, we're at the meeting, and this biker guy comes into the auditorium and starts heckling the speaker.

  I had a dream awhile back about my JW days. I had to give a talk and I didn't have anything prepared to say and it was time to go to the mike and start my speach. I always had to have an outline when I was a JW elder. I had to prepare a week or so before giving a Sunday talk.

  Deputy Dog,

  You forgot to mention that some dogs kill cats. This is proof that it has holy spirit and is directed by God so should be viewed as part of the anointed. It should be given wine and special bread on the memorial day and sent to Brooklyn to dwell with the faithfull and discrete slave.

  How could an ex-Jw become Catholic

  i don't mean this to be offensive to any catholics in any way and believe that they can have true salvation unlike the jw.

  also, i know little about the in's and out's of practicing catholicism, as i have never had any interest in being one.

  regardless i am always surprised when an ex-jw says that they have found the real truth in catholicism.

  It seems to me a God who wants dumb humans to worship him a certain way would define true worship to his creation. He gets so riled up if humans don't follow his way of worship, at least that is the way the bible describes his history with man. He's killing us all because one man ate a piece of fruit. I hope he doesn't get mad again like he did in Noah's day.

  One of my first cousins who I grew up with has a bad cancer. Her mother died last year. We were close when we were kids back in the 40's and 50's. I hate to see so many of my relatives dying but I guess everyone who gets old faces this, if you don't die first. I should just enjoy what time I have left I guess if you can figure out how to do it. I'll be 72 next week but am still in good health, I hope.

  I hear people in church talk about how God speaks to them. How do you know it isn't the devil speaking to deceive you? Well maybe there is no snake, that may give you a clue. God uses asses to speak to humans so maybe we should all get a donkey. Or maybe you shouldn't cut down that bush, it might start burning and tell you what to do, just don't listen to a snake with legs. Don't shoot that dove either, it might bring you some sort of spirit that will make you part of a trinity and then you become God or maybe part of a God, Son, Holy Spirit or something.
