i was thinking about all the accounts in the bible that indicate god kills children as a punishment or teaching experience.
1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.
how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.
This should should throw a HUGE red flag out there.
The vast expanse between 'god of love' and killing of any living creature, much less children should make one stop and think, "this does not add up in any conceivable, logical, etc way imaginable. "
ANY religion teaching this has a very complicated time explaining it.
ok i started another thread and every one jumped on me because i was trying to take the theory of evolution out of the mix and most here seem to believe in it so i will just say it.
the theory of major evolution is crap!
the theory is falling apart.
I have done very little research, and i mean VERY little, on evolution...
however, i've always been fascinated by the fossil record dinosaurs left.
this very tangible record which i have researched somewhat has indeed opened up a can of worms. and the more science reveals about these fossils, the more i question why the Bible ignored such record.
when it comes to evolution we might tend to focus on organisms and constitutions here on planet Earth; there are however (or there must be) what science calls evolution reflected in the entire universe.
much to study and learn, there is.
i would like some input on this idea.
i have seen folks speak about god's problem in regards to suffering.
that subject does raise some serious obstacles between the views of god most people have and the real world.

Maybe we're talking about two different things, but I think my view is the exact opposite of that. Other than the essential randomness at the quatum level, in the larger macro world, nature follows laws that cannot be violated.
if this is the case, then nothing is trully random.
and if this is the case, then 'reality' is trully perception. What you constitute as randomness or chaos, i can refer to order and design.
which means there is no right, and there is no wrong. (one man's garbage is another man's treasure- one man's terrorist is another man's liberator).
injecting God into this mix allows us to decide, take sides to speak.

it appears that you are making the common mistake of attempting to 'inject' God into the scientific and natural formula.
in nature, chaos can reign supreme, especially when we have absolutely ZERO control over events (such as tsunamis, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, etc...) when these events ocur, we see planet Earth going through a cause and effect due to temperatures, gravity etc.
anything living that gets caught in these 'disasters' is obviously unfortunate.
in nature, living things are born and die, some can live a long time, others not. some will die of disease, others will get eaten, and others will be plainly murdered (pest control) or (gang violence).
man attempts to explain these things with a concept known as God. God attempts to fullfill this ancient and well known phrase,

but for this to happen, you need an incredible amount of faith.
i'm trying to figure it out.
if we are just dead then there is no point to anything i do.
i'd like to hope our energy goes somewhere... but, i'd like to examine what somebody presents as proof....
people who saw 'the light' obviously weren't dead yet...so that rules that out.
Is there a doggy or kitty heaven/elsewhere?
what about a vegetable/plant heaven/elsewhere/dimension where they go to after they have been harvested and baked into bread?
living things are ALL made up the same- living cells, that die.
why would it be any different for another form of living organisms, humans?
remember this, you will ALWAYS FIND PROOF if something is REAL, even of invisible wind and electric currents.
so far, there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO proof of an afterlife.

i've been watching a very interesting documentary regarding the state of planet earth.. in a nutshell, (scientifically/physically/factualy) earth is experiencing 'pressure' that points to one inevitable result, to correct itself (or more specifically, to correct the effects of the present human cause, in ex- pollution, global warming, resource depletion etc.)..
the last time earth 'corrected' itself, there was mass extinction.
for proof, check out the dinosaur fossil record (unless they are a hoax.).
so what is a jw's explanation on why animals grow old and die?.....
last time i checked, animals did not sin nor did they rebel against god.... so why do they have the same fate as humans?.

The answer to this question is simple.
Animals die because it is nature. Living things have a beginning and an end.
This is why humans also die, it is nature, and there is nothing that proves otherwise.
The only difference between animals and humans, is that humans are more intelligent and more self conscious. This does not equate to a longer life however. See trees that last hundreds of years...or tortoises for that matter.
Have you ever stared at a tortoise and realized 'you are most likely going to live longer than i am'?
Existentialists call this 'absurd', if an animal could talk it would tell you 'no, it's nature'.
as the information age is apon us and it doesn't take that much information to easily prove this new light by the governing body granting them absolute loyalty and power is a blatant power grab by a bunch of over the hill ego maniacs i see a revolt in the making..
I'm believing that the purest form of revolt against any religion is the acceptance and promulgation of facts as confirmed by science.
From pure faith to pure science though is a huge leap.
so (according to the bible) methuselah lived to be 969, noah 950, jared 962 and so on and so on.
did they simply count years differently back then?

it's a scam because other planets are experiencing global warming too? I think you miss the point Wizard. If Earth is suppose to experience a rise in temperature naturally, SOMETHING is hurrying this process up. Wether is the suv's we drive or the energy you stated globalists use, its still the human factor.
