The Witnesses will squeal and feel persecuted. This will give a greater sense of camaradrie - who knows, maybe ill and old witnesses may get 'shepherding visits' now. Of course, the field ministry will become more fun as they scurry to doors and drop leaflets through before running away. Meetings will be smaller and less formal - probably the midweek groups only. You will get the 'bunker' mentality whereby anyone other than those in the group will be the enemy. You can see this in any JW community. Just think. How many people outside your own midweek group did you really know or see except at KH meetings. it will be a fun time for them as they go around feeling 'persecuted', as their leaders spew out 'We are deep, very deep into the end brothers'. They will love it despite all the bunkum to the contrary - except the bean counters at Brooklyn. Can you hear the yipeee's from the young dubs - 'no more FM - right on'

No New Book To Study WTF
by Poztate inok ...what am i missing here.
it seems to me every year that the dc was the place to bring out "new light?
" including a new and exciting book to sleep through study each and every week.

I stand to be corrected (some people like to bend over, but there you go) but was it not so that some bretthers in Aussieland left because they studied the
'Greatest Man' book and decided that that is how a christians should act and not like the WTBTS brand of christianity?
If that is the case then they should study the GM book again and again and again, until they get it right.

I don't think the incidents reported here are exceptions. I think it is the rule of thumb. when we were loylish dubs, my daughter declared her intent not to be a JW. We were upset about this but went to the CA anyway. When we told our 'friends' they said 'oh well, you can have more children in the new world'. Their faces were smiling the kingdom smile and were totally unconcerened that a girl who they had know all her life was had made this decison, she was 'dead' to them. We faded not long after.

The sad thing is that everyone will queue up all excited and say 'three copies, please brother' or whatever, put their money in the box and go back to their seat eagerly clutching their 'new light' and 'spiritual food at the right time(tm)' and read through the first few pages and then realise that it is nothing new. The 'loyal (tm) JW will at this point be mind-wiped (MWJW) and the 'Kingdom Smile(tm)' will appear on their face and then they will be able to verbalise to other similar MWJW's in an animated fashion about how wonderful it is to have this new tool for the FM. In their minds there are pictures of them going from door-to-door and getting loads of studies as dim-witted householders 'realise this is the troof' and they are leading them by the hand from the smoking ruins of this old world into the new one.
Other JW's who are not so loyal - 'weak-ones (tm) (WO) have lost the joy they once had and only go because it is all they know' will fair badly. The realisation that what they really feel is true and the hoped-for(tm) boost the publication might have given them turns to ashes in their spiritual mouths. The £5 or so they dropped in the box has gone to the great monster in brooklyn to feed its insatiable appetite. They then dread the enforced studing at the toosday group and have to suffer the banal wimperings and gushings of MWJW's eager to ellicit similar confirmation from the mouth of the disgruntled WO, who for the sake of peace and unity will enthuse 'oooh yes sister eversorighteous (SE) it's such a wuuunnddeerrful publication ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gush gush. Otherwise SE will register a non-compliance reaction and this will be noted (marking) and made known to Brother Megaspiritual who will come over all 'friendly and brotherly whilst probing where the sun-don't-shine for evidence of aposto-thinking.
The totally disloyal JW (who is like rocks at a feast and holes boats, or whatever) gets one copy, does not give a donay and scans the publication and posts it here so we can all see it. So if there are any disloyal JW's out there - heaven forbid there are any apostates lurking on this board - would they like to to the decent thing and procure said copy for our edification.
Thank you in advance.

Why Bother? One assembly at good old Twickers (for those in the know or Where? for those not) they braodcast it over FM. Now, my wife had blown a fuse what with all the 'Happiest people' all jostling about and pushing and shoving, laying great swaythes of 'saved by the bible seats' so's they could fit their family in one row and so I said well lets listen in the car (good dub that i was). So, we scuttled back and slunk into the car expecting the Ass police to move us back to the stadium, when to our surprise there were dozens of Bro's in the car park stretched out on rugs, if you please, sunning themselves with their wind-up radio's tuned in - every half hour cranking them up for the next half hours 'food'. Some had brought tables and chairs and parasols like it was a barby and kids were playing footy. Great. We never went to the stadium again but parked up, put the seats back and nodded off - till the ice-cream man came round. Last time we went actually before the fade. To think all those years of a numb bum when I could have been comfortably esconced in my car.

About the Colwell rule....
by grzesiek32 ini would like to correct the colwell's rule.
i think that english speaking people should stop thinking in english while considering the greek bible.
greek article isn't the same as greek article.
-
uriah
(S)He is someone who speaks other than english - Polish I'll wager. That must qualify them to teach Greek for sure.
'Course, us mono-linguists who only speak english (greatest language in the world) and maybe a smattering of French (mais qui!!) or some other EEC lingo would not know about such high-brow stuff and need to be humble under the mighty hand of the great and wise learned one.
Derek - are you from anywhere near Waterford, or maybe carrick?? -

New Wave JW's . . . I sort of got a chuckle out of this one.
by Corvin inthe apostates over at e-watchman's forum are dillusional .
first class spiritual nutjobs, if you will.
we know they do not consider themselves to be apostate, but they believe they will do the most good by staying in the organization so that when the foundations of the society are shaken, and they believe it will happen soon, they will be there to aid and comfort the jw's who don't know what to do or where to go.

Fudging on "Field Service Report"
by Clinton inwhen i was a jdub i used to write down whatever hours i wanted to write down.
when i was pioneering for 7 years i would add a few hours to my time each month so that i wouldn?t fall too far behind.
even when i wasn?t pioneering though i would inflate my hours a bit sometimes so i wouldn?t have the elders hounding me about my time and also so i could hold a ?position?.

Ah, wily, I remember calls like that - but in the UK we can't drive so far. I used to do a little rain dance in the sittingromm whilst getting it ready for the FM meeting. I would also pray to the Gods of Doom to make it pour with rain. Such joy when they were answered. We'll do RV's we would all rejoice, knowing for the next 1hr 15mins we would drive around 'looking' for the RV. I would sometimes work with a sister - if my wife was not going - who would say ' I'm doing RV's' ' I'll come with you' I would quickly say before anyone else. If I was on my own I would zoom off and do a couple of NAH RV's I knew and then go back for coffee and biccies. All and sundry would be full of 'a good time today'. I hated the ministry. I did not invent time until the end, then when I couldn't care less I just did not report - even if I went out. We had the group in MY house and I 'lost' my 'privilege' of reading and opening/closing in prayer. I did not answer up and if asked to read a scripture I just read it in a monotone. When we had to decorate the kitchen, we needed the space for boxes of stuff so I said the group could not meet here for a couple of weeks. When we finished the decorating I just did not invite them back. That was 2 years ago. Bliss.

WT to Congregations, Grow or Go
by benext init was related to me this morning the society has instituted either a new or unofficial policy that congregations with attendance (not publisher) averages of less than 70 will be merged into the nearest congregation.
i know of one elder who will inflate his cong.
average to keep his "spot.
-
uriah
You only have to look at a circuit assembly to see how well you can fade into the wallpaper. No-one from other congs talks to anyone from another cong - unless they know them - , the 'ones' in the cong don't talk to anyone outside their cong clique so you have little huddles. I once tried to break into one of these - just for the fun of it (fun?!) - talk about frost, you'd think I was a lepper asking for money and holding out a pus covered stump than one of the 'loving brotherhood' My old cong is down to about 65 - on a good day - and falling. No new 'New "ones"(tm)'. In fact most of the growth was imports.

I Agree with franklins statement. You will not win. They are convinced that they are right and you are wrong. Just go and see the e-watchman board. Talk about head in the sand.
I have found it best to say what they want. It appears that they do not see through the subterfuge and are happy to go away with what you tell them. I would be thinking, Hey this guy's trying to pull a fast one. I'll ask some more searching questions..' but they don't. Still, I can remember being just as blind and marking down a house, when on FM, as mine when the emcumbents (who said p -orf) were transmogrified into manure at the big A.
