Will you attend the Memorial this year? Why? Why not?

In my case, I was stranged from my family before I awoke. And for years I had had problems, issues, and confrontations with the elders also before my awakening. I was a MS and I was only not kicked out because I had good friends to protect me. It pains me to death to lose these good friends because of the wicked policies of a wicked corporation.

Well, because of the uniqueness of my situation, I just stopped attending meetings once and for all. As you all know when people have to choose between a friend and the WT, the WT usually has the upper hand due to their extreme cultish high-control techniques, brainwashing, and indoctrination of the R&F. Nevertheless, I must be true to myself.

I can be totally out of the cult, I don't have a wife or children still in or anything like that. So I'm out.

I am not going to the Memorial. I do not wish to insult God or Christ, if they exist.

since i am still fairly new to this whole "apostate thing" and have only been on jwn for about a month, i have questions for those of you who have been "out" for awhile or have been on here for a long time.. .

i have seen how many new people have joined since i joined, is that something that happens a lot?

having so many people sign up on here?

Thanks Gojira_101, I wonder if future 'new light' will be test-driven on the jw.org first and then they'll take it from there. Of one thing I'm sure, the GB really is making it up as they go...

Christ Almighty, the WT takes micromanagement to a whole new level...I am so looking forward to missing the first of many conventions in years to come and I am not going to miss it at all.

I can now see what many posters meant when they said that now that they are out they can see it ever more clearly what a numbnut crazy piece of crap cult this is...

I may not post daily but I have a blooming laugh every day on this website. And I feel it really helps me now in the healing process of leaving the Borg as I can now see the funny side of it all.

There are so many quick-witted and intelligent people here! You are all amazing.

Exactly Amelia, I agree. It's like they've done their big announcement about the 'new light' and are now waiting and gauging the reaction to it. They may even be test-driving this with the way they did it, on the Annual Meeting and online, instead of in a convention. That is so cowardly. It's really weird that Jesus wasn't sure who was the slave for all this time and now that he does, we don't get any explanation of how he arrived at his conclusion.

My non-JW girlfriend said I looked good when I didn't shave for days before the next meeting and asked me to let my beard grow. So I did. This was before my awakening but even then I had heard of how you might find brothers wearing beards in some places and had tried to explain to my girlfriend why we couldn't have beards. Needless to say, I couldn't present a scriptural basis or logical reasoning for it.

Of course, some people in my congregation looked scared when they saw me, others patronized me and only a couple of friends said I looked good. Well, I 'awoke', saw the truth about the cult so couldn't give a flying toss anymore whether anyone in the congregation likes it, especially since I haven't been to the meetings since the end of last year.

My girlfriend likes it, she says I look better with the beard, and she reasons, "Didn't Jesus have one?"

i think with every year their are more and more newbies that identify with this site , would you like to say " hi ", if you have joined in the last 12 months ?.

does anybody have a graph of the numbers of newbies who have joined in say the last 5 years ?.

i think that would be interesting.

QR codes: a way to stop APOSTATES !!!

interesting meeting today.the do had the last talk and he mentioned a couple of things i have not heard before :.

1) the new lighter magazines are designed in a way to attract people to our website .

2)the ministry will change to incoprorate preacing in town centres and and with stands as in manhattan and certain brothers will be allocated to do this .so it is done now in a big scale ,organised.. 3)the qr codes at the back of the magazines are there for smart phone users to guide them directly to jw.org ,unlike bad old internet via laptops and pc's that you have to look for the website on google and sometimes end up in enemy websites that look like our website but are spreading lies about jw's (he said exactly that!

Now, when are we getting an article on "Young People Ask: Smartphones--Do I Really Need One?" and questions like,

"Will I be able to afford the rates a 3G Internet connection? Will I have to work extra hours to pay for these? Would this time be better spent in the ministry? Will I be tempted to access pornographic websites and thus put my relationship with Jehovah in jeopardy? Even if I do go to apparently harmless websites, will I be able to control the time I spend surfing the Interweb [how some GB members sometimes think it's called] so as not to neglect more important things?

Jehovah's servants do well to consider such factors before making such an important decision, 'because the days are wicked.' "

That will be shortly before they publish the list of Websites Not To Go To and release an anti-apostate software that blocks you from accessing said websites...

How the new light on the domestics may backfire on the Watchtower Society

the new light is a bit of give and take by the gb.

they have taken upon themselves the title of the faithful and discreet slave, in exchange for pushing the 'appointment over all of his [christ's] belongings' out into the future, and also in exchange for allowing the earthly class to be counted as 'domestics'.

the gb can now totally lord it as kings over the flock in exchange for having "dignified" them by including them as domestics.

If only any of the R&F dared to think just a little for themselves and wondered how is it that for all this time the 'great crowd' wasn't considered part of the domestics and now, just like that, in the snap of a finger, "Er, well, you know, we've been thinking and actually, yes! The Great Crowd can be considered part of the dometics!"

Where is the evidence/basis on which they base this 'new light' and then what was the evidence/basis on which they based the old one (i.e., the domestics are only anointed ones because only they are in the new covenant [?])?

If only they dared to consider these points from a logical point of view just for a little while.
