i responded in this`way: i already got an invitation so i'm all set.. she said, "would you like a magazine and i said, "no thank you"'..... and she just left.. it took no more than 15 seconds!.

i got a great email i need to format about several stupid elders and ministerial servants who read spoof jw urban legends from the platform.

I now see how strange it was that I would believe it when I heard a story or read some 'experience' that the demons said JWs are the true religion or something of the sort. I mean, Christ, we get a confirmation even from the demons and not a peep from God. When you have to have Satan telling you your religion is the right one that should tell you something.

Millions of people have stopped attending religious services in many different denominations, because they have had a change of heart. But the fact that it happens does not prove their former faith to be wrong.
Aren't JW's the only true religion? His argument is invalid. LOL
Others have stopped caring about the public in general and no longer witness about God's truths as they used to before.
Yes, because the WT does so much for the general public, don't they?

NEW NWT'S Distributed at 2013 Conventions?

chatter on the street is that there exists a very high possiblility of the new newworld translation being distributed.

it comes from a reliable sources, but who knows.

I agree WhatHappened.
I've also been thinking, since my awakening I started studying and using websites like bible.cc to compare translations. I like that one as it has commentary references too. After comparing several scriptures IMO there are way better modern translations out there as far as the NWT is concerned. So why would Jehovah leave his people with an inferior translation when Christendom has got it better?
Seems strange. LOL

I'd like to make a comment about the Book of Enoch.
It surprised me to find out (after my awakening) that Jude's reference to Enoch in Jude 1:14-15 is very similar to what is found in the book of Enoch, and Wikipedia also points to 2 Peter 2:4-5 and 1 Peter 3:19-20 as references to Enochian material.
Now, the more I read about the development of the bible canon the more I see the changeable position of the church on just what should be part of it or not. Heck, the fact that the WT teaches that after the death of John the 'congregation' as they call it was already showing signs of 'apostate' corruption should make one wonder why the WT itself simply went along with the mainstream when making their own translation of the bible. (Because if they made too different a translation they'd have to revise their teaching? They'd been using 'worldly' translations before.)
If I still believed in the bible, I'd write to the WT and ask them why a book like the Book of Enoch which is clearly referenced in the bible was not included in theirs, especially since the development of the canon wasn't a given, like God saying, "these are it, the books".

An elder told me last year when I was still going that they were not supposed to give talks from the platform using iPads not to make the brothers and sisters who couldn't afford one want one.

hi everyone, there is a rumor on a french speaking forum saying that the elders were to assist to a 9 h meeting,yesterday or today depending on availability, about pedophilia exclusively.

Wow, if it is confirmed to be true and they didn't even allow mobile phones on during their meeting, that would really tells us something about the WT's trust in their elders and the overall state of the affairs in the congregations.

i have been skimming the magazine this morning, and the whole issue seems designed to keep the flock at the kh.

yes, i know this is not exactly " new " information.

still with all the problems the organization is having, this one just seemed to strike me as odd.

Could it be that in choosing this year's text they took into account the real bad things that were/are happening to them--lack of money, Candace Conti, the Australia court case, etc. and so braced themselves in for a difficult year?
And since non-sensical new light always causes them to lose followers, and they have one of the worst if not the worst retention rate, that must also \have weighed in their minds when choosing the year text. I wonder how many left the borg last year or how many became inactive and what bearing that also may have had.
