i see my wife being pulled into the org a little again, by some good people and kindness.

she grew up a very happy jw, and to leave is very hard for her.

but she has opened the pandoras box of her brain and can't shut it.. we were discussing blood a couple days ago.

Jesus was a False Prophet - But was he deluded or deceitful?

any objective reading of the gospels makes it plain that jesus believed his parousia would happen within the lifetime of his generation.. his followers believed in his imminent return until the day of their deaths.. his false prophecy damaged the lives of his disciples in a similar way to that done by the lies of modern cults like the watchtower.

peter and others walked out on their wives, children and businesses to follow him around palestine.

jesus taught them to put their families and other normal concerns in second place to their task of spreading his message - which turned out to be false.. the question is what he was up to?.

the bible and its prophecies

i have been doing a lot of research on the bible and its roots so to speak and its becoming clearer that the jews like other races took gods and stories from others and made them their own.

its also become clear that many of the books were written later then stated, like daniel probably written about a hundred years before christ and some of it maybe even after.

but what i don't get is the prophecies.

So End of Mysteries. What did Jesus do IMMEDIATELY after his baptism?

The reason I ask this I hope will become clear when you answer.

But, my point is that you certainly cannot take all of the gospels and mix them up and create a mashup of what Jesus said. You can't say he said not only this but also this other thing from another book written 50 years later by someone who didnt know him personally.

Could really use some help regarding legal letter to avoid DF

i used to have a webpage saved and i have lost it.

a young man and his wife had faded.

they had a birthday party for their child and were called before a judicial committee.

I did hire a lawyer and had a letter drafted and sent by him. We didn't hear anything from them for 2.5 months probably after that. Nice because I have had a lot of close family visit, and that will change if we are DF'd.

I'm not rich, but I sacrificed and paid an expensive price for what has turned out to be 3 extra months with family. Considering I could lose them soon, its a price I'd pay again.

The letter worked as I said for a while, then a lawyer from the WT actually did respond to my lawyer. He said he was representing the 3 douche's on the committee. My lawyer then looked and this guy wasn't licensed to practice in my state, so he sent another letter asking if someone else was going to represent the elders or why he was attempting representation without being licensed here.

The elders did call one last time to try to get me to meet again, I said I can't talk without my lawyer present and hung up. Then we recieved a registered letter for another damn JC meeting with the same charges as last time. I talked to the lawyer and he said we would ignore it and keep hammering their attorney.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if I get a registered letter saying I am DF soon. I am pretty much expecting it. But, you never know.

I do have one further tip or bit of advice I'll offer. If I had a do-over on this, I'd threaten to sue just the 3 elders without including WT. I think the reason the WT lawyer got involved is because I had mentioned the WT as a lawsuit as well.

Based on this experience, I do think the lawyer was working. If I had just not named the WT in the potential suit, the elders wouldn't have a free lawyer available.

Critical Thinking from the Wife !!

the other day i had a couple of drinks and went off on the gb (again), about how they are just posturing and have no clue.

i said if they knew what they were talking about we would already be in the new world, but we're not ..so they dont...the end.. well i got some push back as would be expected, but what surprised me was what she said a little later.

firstly she didn't pay attention to the public talk this past sunday and instead read an article in a watchtower on stress.

congrats!! Could be step one on the way to thinking herself free. Ask her why skunks have smells, turtles have shells, porcupines have quills, and snakes have venom?

Don't tell her what you think. Play dumb and say you are not sure, its just something you have been thinking about and that its interesting.
