If the bum cheated on you and now is treating you like crap AND your kid wants out - DROP HIS ASS. You can be so much happier. You can find someone who will love you for you and not cheat. You are letting this thing die an agonizing and painful death instead of just putting it out of its misery.

What is spirit, exactly?

i've always wondered that.

recently i asked that question on another thread and didn't really get ananswer.

cofty made an excellent point that we often hear what it isn't, but that really isn't useful.. so, what is it?

Geez louise though folks. Let's get back on topic with this friendly light hearted debate over spirit.

It seems obvious to me... There is an answer I think most here would give for spirit but they are afraid to maybe? So, I'll put back on my believer hat and answer.

Spirit isn't comprised of anything physical or measurable. It doesn't have mass or atoms. It exists in a dimension outside of our reality. God created the laws we live under. He made matter. There was nothingness or void then he created Jesus and the angels. After Jesus they made things of matter and substance. Our universe came from them. BUT, they exist on another level than we do. It could be that spirit is made of something, but its something we couldn't recognize and it's something that doesn't really matter. Spirit was here before the building blocks that we recognize. Therefore it is not made of the things other things around us are. It is made of nothing. It just is. Like god.

hello there i am new to the faith and have been studying for about a month.

i am very excited and hungry for the truth and have not missed a meeting or study since the memorial.

we do about 2 bible studies a week.

I am surprised the disfellowshipping and shunning practice just because you change your mind was simply ignored... Totally glossed over. The conversation went on about mundane things. Is she okay with not being able to ever leave? Very odd...

It could be that this person studying with her is "weak" since she left and then came back. No one has forced the "weak" person studying with her to quit the Y since they are still love bombing her too...

Kate... If my heart quits its not that my spirit gave out... It's a symptom of another medical issue. If I get defib'd and restarted that isn't a spark of life returning to me, it's electricity from the wall plug.

Many plants can be cut from their source and put in water to grow new roots. There was no spark of life needed... I am surprised you believe all that if you are a chemist.

chronic fatigue syndrome refers to severe, continued tiredness that is not relieved by rest and is not directly caused by other medical conditions.. did you have many congregation members, particularly pioneers, that said they had " chronic fatigue syndrome" ?.

that's their "get-out-of-jail-free card.

" they were free to cancel anything at anytime and it was their legitimate reason for not doing anything that didn't involve field recruiting.

I have known several with CFS. One close friend who passed a few years ago had it as a teen... But, now looking back we know he was abused by a pedophile in an old hall. So it may have been depression.

In my old hall the morbidly obese sister had thyroid problems that several doctors couldnt diagnose. She finally did find a doctor that agreed she had a thyroid problem. Good thing the new system is mere months away.

the article addressed luke 20:34-36 and now they finally admit jesus could have been referring to the heavenly resurrection.

they said "put simply, the answer is that we cannot say" which is surprising because they have something to say about everything.

perhaps all the old people who are waiting the new world as widow and widowers want to know if they have a chance to be reunited with their dead loved one.
