1 - I offered bible studies on that day when I was in, not to suck up but because it was such a easy way to do service. When I was in, I felt that knocking a total of maybe 8 doors where I would talk was wasting my time. No one took magazines. If they did then you made RV's that went no where. So the bible study saturday was great for me. I would do the almost outright ask routine.

"Many people have always had questions about really important questions in life. I spend personal time studying the bible with people who are interested in what it has to say about many questions we have all wondered. Would you be interested in a free home bible study?"

"Uhhhhh no thanks."

2 - The way they continually portray evolution as the start of life, is outright deceitful. They know what they are doing. The writers are not that dumb. They purposefully want to appeal to people who think in an uneducated way.

i always thought that when someone says they are anointed or the anointed....it has and still does conjour up the image of dungeons and dragons.

"What a joke" is right!

The best was how I saw certain elders exchanging knowing looks when certain people were mentioned as being of "the anointed". Or elders in a service car group would take it upon themselves to explain the qualities a "true anointed" person displays, thereby implying that the person just being mentioned doesn't seem to fit that mold.

YOU can't ever question anyones status yourself or you will get looked at like the dog who peed in the floor. But, they make all the innuendo's they want.

Once I woke up and realized that as Obuillet says - "Let's review. It's a cult!", I started vigorously supporting even the sketchiest of anointed proclaimers. I shamed a few people who dared to imply that the unstable and recently disfellowshipped and then reinstated 20 year old boy we had all known since he was in diapers, was not anointed. Fun times. "Sister Bratty! Only Jehovah knows who he has called. It is not our place to declare that this young spiritual leader is NOT anointed. We can't know. Only Jehovah knows."

Very very cool. I love this stuff. Sure would be awesome to go back in time and interact with these early ancestors.

i was publicly reproved last year and the elders have taken their sweet time in reinstating my "privileges".

it's been six months and i can't answer at the meetings or participate in the theocratic ministry school.

in all honesty- i don't care about the privileges.

Not your struggle. But, I know what you are going through. It's really rough. Hang in there girl. I'm 38 now. When I was 18 everything was always going so slow. The thought of two or three years of time was agonizing. And honestly in your shoes it will be agonizing. But! But, when you are 38 and thinking back to these last couple yrs, you will think how easy it was to make the sacrifice in order to have your family in your life. Hang in there! We are here for you.

Richard_I - I too always imagine elders on stage doing a number two. I saw it most nights in an anti-typical way.

I am so happy I am out. I almost blew a gasket just reading this crap.

Bible Highlights at 2 minutes. hmmmm.... Nice teaching they are fostering. Wouldn't want the eager beavers who want to brag to have to miss an extra opportunity.

The commendation to parents on helping their child read was code talk for "don't let your little brat take forever reading and messing up".

The brother assigned a #3 part.... You know the school overseer is going to assign tons of wives here. It's a freaking extra part all the time for the women. Most wives don't like being on stage. They hate it. Now they have to set up there and do an extra part.

New songs! But, just as dumb and hard to sing as the old songs. Seriously, someone just wrote some sheet music and then some incompetent brothers tried to make bad lyrics fit the tune. Blech!

Discontinuing Bible Studies (BS).... Imagine that! No one listens. Now they can get people to go out easier on the first saturday and make more of the magazines.
