i can't fathom it.
if i asked anyone in the last couple halls i've been in they wouldn't know.
it would seem to me that news like that would race around a circuit and spread like wildfire over the country.
I can't fathom it. If I asked anyone in the last couple halls I've been in they wouldn't know. It would seem to me that news like that would race around a circuit and spread like wildfire over the country. Why doesn't anyone know? Why don't they talk about it? Not even apologist deny it, they just make light of it. I can't understand how that could be out there and no one other than an apostate know. I mean there are a select few D.O. and C.O. and elders who may have had the question who know, but none of the publishers and not most elders.
since our episode with our oldest son and his wife we know the word is out that we no longer want to be jw.
the other day an elder from fl tried to call us but our fax machine was on during his attempt.
i quess when he heard the fax noise he thought he may have had the wrong number.
I like it. But, I think in your case you might play a fake sympathy card to help you out with your kid.
"I am NOT an apostate! My wife and I have been very discouraged lately. Finding out that the organization was a part of the UN hurt us greatly. Seeing the changing of the generation teaching confused us. But, being confused and discouraged is NOT apostacy!"
That does 2 things. It spreads the word in a non-apostate way about the UN, and it makes you appear discouraged and down trodden which might soften your son. Maybe?
lately, i have been seriously considering a slow fade out from the jw.
obviously, i have family in the jw and i don't want to cause them trouble.
but then, lately, some of the family that is not jw is studying and even asking me to study with them!.
you have hit the tipping point friend. Just read Crisis of Conscience. How can you go in service and bring people into a false religion? How can you be a JW and not go in service? They dont mix.
i have been thinking latley about having a little fun.
i want to dress up in a suite go to the kingdom hall during a meeting and knocking on the door to offer them a religious track.
maybe i will record it and put it on youtube.
"Hi, I know you may be busy so I'll be breif. I'm sure you would agree that the world seems to be in constant political struggles? I wanted to leave you this tract explaining God's Kingdom and invite everyone to our local church next week for a sermon. No collection plates are passed. I hope you can make it!"
Hands tract with a smile and walks off.
my name is jack harper, tech49.
new here, been lurking for many months now.
a brief history:.
I became an alcoholic due to the truth and trying not to think about the flaws my mind saw. That and gossiping, corrupt, backstabbing, jerks in the hall. :)
I am sober now.

Welcome! Glad to have you. I was born and raised in and all family besides wife and maybe my sister are in. I'm relatively new too. Look forward to reading more from you.
gen 1:31: "-- it was very good--".
at this point man had perfection, so did the animals , it was all very good after all, but.
mankind did not have inherent never ending life, just like the perfect animals,-- because.
But, you are just giving an opinion. The bible states they were put out so as to avoid a situation where they ate and lived forever. It doesn't say they were eating it, or that they were put out out so they couldn't keep eating it.
Of course we are arguing absurdities because it doesn't make sense either way.

I love talking about the first chapters of Genesis. One thing though, the bible doesn't say that they were eating from the tree of life. In fact, it makes a distinction. It says that they had to be put out of the garden and guards posted, lest they eat from it and certainly live forever. So, follow me here for a minute. Eating of the tree of knowledge of good and bad wasn't a continual thing. You didn't have to keep eating from it to be like god. It was a one time deal. Just like the tree of life. If they had been smart enough to eat from it then they would still be alive (and like god).
Of course, that's all said as if its true. The really crazy thing is, why on earth would a loving god who was incapable of bad, and incapable of even knowing wrongdoing, make a temptation to test his children? Why also make a tree of life that granted immortality that they could have eaten. And, if he would have stopped them from eating of the tree of life, the why didn't he stop them from eating of the tree of good and bad? Completely impossible in every way.
there are some things that i wish the local congregation knew about my husband but i am not sure how to inform them.. my husband was a jw in a previous marriage but none of his family are jw's except for one half sister who he recently met for the first time.
his ex wife is no longer a believer either and their three adult kids want nothing to do with the jw's.. i met my husband 8 years ago on eharmony.
i should have been leary when he stated his religion as "christian".
Call the police on him the next time he comes by.
