WhatNow, as your "friend" outed you before you were ready, it's only natural that you feel off-kilter. All that new and shiny jdub stuff is just superficial fluff, though, and you're not missing a thing. It's like a clique of high school girls who focus on new fads all the time...it's not that you're not cool cause you don't fit in, it's that they are nutso for attention.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to allow yourself to be happy. You are not wrong. You are not a bad mommy. You are a wonderful person who has escaped a horrible cult and should be so proud of herself for saving her child from growing up in an absolutely ridiculous, soul-numbing environment. Good for you!!!

Don't worry that you don't have instant friends on the outside of the bOrg...give it some time. The most important thing you can do is RELAX. While it's sad to have others shun you, remember that IT'S THEIR LOSS and not yours. You are obviously intelligent, caring and loving and are the one to be missed.

So WE are happy you're here!!!

I applaud her for taking this stance and raising public awareness. The point is that no matter what anyone or any government thinks, our lives belong to us alone. Yes, what we do with our lives impacts others but if you've ever cared for a dying parent or watched a sibling die of cancer after horrendous chemotherapy, you too will applaud her stance.

Who knows, there may be more of us compelled to move to Oregon to spare our loved ones the trauma of caring for our sickened bodies. It's a selfless act, hers.

Let's see...sorry, have to do this in USD cause my British is not good...that's $0.30 to cover the liability insurance on all the halls, and $0.50 to cover the liability insurance on all the branches and hq buildings and life insurance policies on the gb, leaving $4.00 to fund the Watchtower Pedophile Fund which pays all those pervert liability claims. So that comes to 7,000,000 x $4.00 = $28,000,000 annually.

Well, that's just not enough, the Conti case alone would have wiped that out before it was lowered.

No wonder they had to sell off so much real estate and steal the savings accounts of all the kingdumb halls.

This needs to be posted all over the internet...on FB pages and YouTube...it's time the sheeple start to see that these are not isolated incidents but an epidemic of abuse that has been and continues to be sanctioned by the inaction of the WTS and the enforcement of their ridiculous practices that protect pedophiles while punishing and further damaging the innocent victims.

Shame on any of you reading this who are current elders and allow this type of behavior to continue in your congregations.

What Kingdom Halls do you know of that have been closed down recently?

recently, we drove by the kingdom hall in galena, il, the sign was removed and it was closed down.

a while back, the hall in taylor mo was also closed.

one congregation in peoria, il was dissolved last year.

ScenicViewer, your situation sounds like one in my area. Spanish and English sharing a hall and the Spanish cong was growing fairly quickly. Land was purchased and the congs were making payments for years but it's still vacant after 8-10 years. Been out too long to know the scoop but it doesn't look like there will be a new hall, yet there are no For Sale signs on the property. Maybe when Momma bOrg stole all their savings there wasn't enough left to build.
