InChristAlone - satisfaction in other peoples suffering and the need for revenge
seem to ba an exclusive human quality.
if death is the payment for one's sins, and a person lives through armageddon and beyond without dying, how does that person pay for their sins?
how would a jw answer that?.
InChristAlone - satisfaction in other peoples suffering and the need for revenge
seem to ba an exclusive human quality.
i am the worlds greatest lover!.
do i really expect you to be believe that?.
honestly?.
When under the 'spell' of the WT I held myself aloof and apart
from all other humans not of the cult, and in the cult there was
no real personal connections, just the appearance of association
that was supposed to replace any real community or deep loyalty
to anyone, it was a group-think , group membership, with levels
of acceptance and always conditional, so not only did I isolate myself
from intimacy within the organization , but I abandoned any hope
of connecting honestly with anyone in the community at large.
Very stunting and isolating, which is why so many cannot feel "normal"
when they manage to escape the cult.
but im still in and on the fence.
" remember who owns the fence?".
shunning needs to be tempered.
Venting - spell anyway you want to - regardng reforms - please try to
examine the "core issue" Ask yourself, ' Why do I believe eight men in
New York are the 'sole channel of communication' between man and God?"
Why do you believe this ? Why do you believe the three verses in the Bible
that refer to a couple of 'faithul servants' who used resources instead burying
them in the ground, means setting up a hierarchy of control from the top down?
Was there really 'always an organization' that represented God? What is your
proof of this ? You base your entire life and belief system on these basic assumptions.
What is the proof, in scripture and in the history of the Watchtower to establish this
as any kind of fact ? Start there.
why did you get baptized?.
what do you think they would reply?.
because it is the truth!
I think if you try to remember the emotions and feelings at the time
you were baptized, think about it, the moment you "first believed" was
NOT a moment of of belief in Jehovah or Jesus , it was a moment when you
wanted to "belong" to a big community that felt like a family to you.
Baptism for JW's is about the "organization" the "governing body" about
being accepted in the "society" being directed and led by those eight men
who say they are the "sole channel" between you and God. This is not about
you receiving salvation by the Messiah, or having holy spirit in a personal way,
or individual direct access to God with only Jesus as your mediator. Do you see
at all the difference ? As far as life "afterwords" NewYork44m - everybody creates
their own life, their own community, and finds their own work, its called freedom.
The JW's who can't leave are dependent, and thinking by association, with a closed
group, they gain some safety and protection in life.
They do not see two things:
(1) The personal and actual cost of their dependency
(2) The fact support systems exist outside the organization.
Freedom of course, requires taking responsibilty, and making efforts
to plan and organize your life and improve your skills and connect to others.
The WT does not make 'better people' by lists of rules, better people result when
individuals act upon their own lives, and find their work in this world.
DataDog - Sin is when you deiberately act to harm others, OR fail to take actions
that would help others when it is in your power to do so.
i am a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints, and i have written a heavily-documented response to the official magazine of the jehovah's witnesses, awake!, that claims to teach what we believe.
i saw an article from last year's watchtower about a guy who had barely been mormon for very long, and obviously did not know what we believe, who was given this magazine by jw's to show him "the truth.
" he claims to have proven to himself that it was true from information on the lds church's website.
You lost me at the bit about
the special underwear.
I try to avoid religions that involve
wearing a costume. Which is why
I am not a Muslim.
I hope I don't end up on
your special personal Planet
some day with you as God.
That would be awkward.
islam /muslims today are what christianity was centuries ago , the two beleif systems are like oil and water , not to be mixed .
christians are not tolerated spreading their infectious disease amongst muslims, in islamic countrys , and harsh penalties apply for them doing so in muslim countries , including the death penalty.
stonings , whippings etc.. on the other hand christian nations are very tolerant of muslim extremists who incite hatred and violence on their own territory , and they get a slap on the wrist and say dont do it again .
JWdaughter - You are a Muslim ? and you used to be a JW ? Is that correct ?
Being in high control group with lots of rules and separation of women and
women as property, this appeals to you and makes you feel protected ?
869 women were stoned to death by mobs, beaten to death or stabbed
to death or burned to death in Pakistan in 2013 and all these killings
were "honor killings" so you better follow the rules and watch your step my dear.
796 infant skeletons have been found discarded in a septic tank at the former mother and baby home run by the catholic church in ireland between 1925 and 1961.. unwed mothers were sent these "magdelene asylums" to be treated like criminals.
their babies - if they survived - were taken from them.
if they did not survive their bodies were thrown into a septic tank and forgotton.
Irland never declared war on Nazi Germany during World War ll
and Ireland aided Nazis gunboats and submarines to sink Merchant
Ships carrying supplies to those being bombed in London.
The Irish let the Nazi pilots that landed there, by crashing or by
mistake or on purpose, have free walking around and Pub privileges .
Ths was while the Nazis were bombing England and killing Jews.
i have a genuine question for the jw apologist.
.
what is your scriptural justification for your unquestioning obedience to the governing body and your unwillingness to question their intepretation of scripture?.
SAHS - nicely put - punkofnice - frightening list proving the WT worships itself.

MAD GIANT - Alert - Facebook took down your page !!

Mad Giant - Zowie - I and I assume you no longer wear secret underwear?
And Americans nearly voted a Mormon into office ? Oh wait they did vote him
into being governor of a State , right ? And how about the guy who runs
Bountiful in BC, the Mormon polygamist colony.? Its not a leap for a JW
to be a Mormon, since so much is the same in the way of a "special society"
Male dominated, right down to having your own Planet ? And a magical guy
who was chosen by God to write special books ?
