  The G.B. consider themselves to be the great shepherd, but don’t want to hear any sheep b-a-a-hing.

  A D.O summed up their attitude when he reminisced about a brother who had stubbornly held to his own understanding about the resurrection of the people of Sodom and ended up df’d. He added, «If he’d only waited patiently for the slave to clarify the question, in the end he was headed in the right direction. Unfortunately he chose to run ahead of the organization.»

  Many laughed when the generation article came out. It was no great revelation, a lot of the sheep had realized something was fishy years before. But everyone had to wait till the f & d slave got caught up.

  Bill, I think you can expect an article on pedophiles and procedure in a few years. Then they can proclaim THEY have decided to better protect the sheep.

  Sadly the sheep seem to see more clearly than the shepherd. I think the shepherd class need to get down of their barstools and crawl around on all fours for awhile. Maybe then they would better understanding of what life is all about.

  i've been under the opinion that we jehovah's witnesses are famous for preaching this good news of the kingdom.

  after all, matthew 24:14 is our scripture and every cover of the watchtower says 'announcing jehovah's kingdom'.. i decided to take a survey to prove this point.

  A brother who believes JW’s belong to a superior race asked the question in a restaurant here. Just so happened the waiter had a JW neighbor who was a real asshole, screaming and fighting with his wife all the time. The brother spent 20 mins. trying to explain that this moron was the exception. Didn’t get around to Matt. 24 :14. Hahaha !

  JW’s - no better no worse than anyone on the planet.

  chapter 1.. the year is 1972 and it appears vietnam will soon be a closed chapter for this country and for me the start of one that will define my destiny in life.

  my best friend john and i are freshmen in high school and we take great joy in debating religion.

  he is a newly baptized jw and i am a renegade catholic.

  I ask myself :

  If a memorial wall was constructed for all the WT victims, how many names would there be ? How many would visit to grieve ? I believe the numbers would be astounding. So many injured for life. So many lost to the cause.

  Each one here could name many.

  the paramedics went to an apartment of an elderly woman who was having heart failure.

  jehovah's witnesses are under a type of ban in windsor on canada .

  What if the elders dont come see you at all?

  i was looking at the post of,another member here and he stated how he hates when the elders come to harass his wife for not coming to the meetings,but what if they never come?

  my wife has been missing from the meetings for almost a year now due to illness,and i have been missing the meetings dueto my relocating after the 9/11 attacks we get a phone call once every 2 months from one elder,and thats about it.we got a shepherding call only out of fear of what the circuit overseer might say to them for not seeing us.what to do?

  I’m sorry to hear about your wife being ill.

  Re visits : I guess we are of the fortunate few - we got a visit after the C.O. dragged one of the elders to our place during his week. I guess he was frustrated that we didn't attend his week, because in his Fri. talk to the cong. he mentioned his visit and quoted us, then he went on about some, who no longer attend, believing they are alive but are, in reality, quite dead (we had said that we felt alive when he visited). I’m sure he felt good about doing his duty and letting the cong. know he'd done it. We were classified...dead. He must have felt satisfied to fill it in on the society’s cong. report. After the C.O.'s visit some of the pubs. asked if we’d been visited, what had been said, and then let us know we’d been discussed on the platform (without naming names of course) !

  What's everyone doing for Christmas?

  i'm in a quandry.. came out of the organisation a few years ago, have spend a couple of chilled out christmasses in front of the fire.

  no presents, decorations etc, no problem!

  but... my little boy is getting older and my ex-husband (my son's father and also an ex-jw) is concerned that he will miss out, just like we did as kids.. but, i am reluctant to do the whole christmas thing.

  last year one of my customer's asked me when I was going to give him a Christmas card - I gave him a card and gift - this year he asked me to his companie's Christmas party - so now I guess I'm going to be a real pagan - hope no J.W's are there ha-ha ... might get myself df'd

  Having Children Inside vs Outside The Organizatio

  i feel cheated because i wouldnt know what its like to experience pregnancy and the birth of my children the way it was meant to be.. a completely natural and joyous event in human life was sabotaged by this religion!.

  im sure there are others who know what i mean.. i would be interested to hear stories of others who have had children both inside and out of this organization.. i would like to explain what i mean.. i was raised as a witness and was always expected to be an example.

  from as far back as i can remember we were taught that armageddon was just around the corner.

  I was a mistake born to a pioneer couple. I knocked my parents out of the pioneer service. They had been living in a room, my dad working 1 day a week for $5. He had a hard time finding a job. He had no skills, was over 30 and had never had a real job. Later, when he decided the family needed a car, he was regarded as materialistic by the congregation.

  As a youngster I well remember the talks telling unmarried brothers and sisters to stay single, and married couples to remain childless. One DA talk went into particular detail about Jerusalem’s destruction, stressing the point that starving mothers ATE THEIR OWN CHILDREN...woe to the pregnant woman at Armageddon ! It was very clear that there would be matricides at Armageddon and anyone getting pregnant would deeply regret it

  I think the currant baby boom mentioned, shows that many are tired of the WT’s prophecies of doom. One forty-year-old sister in my congregation went around telling all she was going to get pregnant before it was too late, and she wasn’t talking about Armageddon. Everyone cheered her on and she is now the proud mother of a baby boy. Next she is going for a brother or sister and no one is stumbled.
