ClassAvenger - If you're thinking of dating a JW, forget it, don't get involved. The JW will be studying, preparing, going to meetings, going door-to-door and refusing, on religious grounds, to do practically everything you would like to do. Unless you become a JW too your life will be a lonely one. Everyone here will urge you not to become a JW; read on if you want to know why; better yet... just RUN!

Anyone Here Lost Their Inheritance To The WT?
by Englishman ini have.. i hadn't even realised it until i had a conversation with my brother last summer.
our dad was a proffesional man who could command a good income whilst he worked.
trouble is, that he would listen to all the 1975 "end of the system" nonesense and then become motivated to serve where the need was great.

Know where youre coming from E-man. My dad quit his job and cashed out his pension around 1975. Later he had to find a job and ended up working at K-Mart. Mom has told me he gets under $20/month pension from K-Mart. My sister, who is dfd, was informed she is cut out of the will. But from where I stand us kids will probably be paying funeral expenses.

Getting over the "Imperfect Org" defe...
by confuzcious in.
hey guys,.
i was wondering if you have a response when you present stuff about pedo, un, rutherford, etc, and a jw says, "well they are imperfect people.. the last respons i got was, only jesus was ever the perfect channel of god - which of course i agree.. but it's like if you ever bring up anything about anything, the stock response is, "we'll it's an imperfect organization.... your response???.

The Bible writers were imperfect men. However, if what they wrote could be classified as imperfect (full of errors)...let us lay the Bible aside and search for other guidance.
When we hear the excuse of imperfection (error) attributed to the FDS today it is never in relation to their personal human tendencies but is always used to explain the erroneous prophecies and comprehensions written down in their publications.
Is this type of imperfection (error in the sacred duty of communicating God's purposes and truths) excusable or acceptable for the self-proclaimed mouthpiece of the God of Truth. Would it not be wise to lay aside the publications of the "imperfect" FDS and seek other guidance? Furthermore is it fitting for the FDS to impose its "imperfect" non-inspired views on all JWs and moreover sanction those not fully agreeing with their comprehension of the moment?

ah hahaha
Most JW's seem to believe they have studied every religion on the planet and chosen the right one. So you not alone.
Professing to "have studied every religion on the planet" convinces me you "have just enough knowledge to be stupid."
You sound like the type of person who fills out an exam with the MOST right answers ah hahahaha!
Please note you are " quite entertaining from my perpective".

OBSERVATIONS BY MY THERAPIST
by Far North inmy last therapy session was all about the "truth".
after many sessions i finally brought up the thought that maybe some of my depression and low self-esteem issues have to do with spending 40 years in a high-control religion.. i won't bore you with all the details but some of the highlights of what i said bothers me are:.
my never feeling like i am doing enough or are good enough.. having regrets about missed opportunities and having let others control my life.. constant changing of doctrine and dates.

Hi Far North. You must be from frigid Canada like me. I have to agree with others here.
Im a 3 rd generation Dub, was in the high-mind-control cult for 40+ years, pioneered, eldered etc.. I felt much like you and understand where you are coming from. Read C of C. Then ask yourself who taught you and made you believe that:
YOU have no hope for salvation
YOU will never make the grade
YOU can never do enough to be "whole-souled".
Everything YOU have done in the past is negated.
That YOU are presently in a spiritually "sick" condition
Jehovah is an exacting God who has no problem destroying the majority of mankind.
So what chance do YOU have?
YOU still don't think YOU have any chance to be one of the "spared ones
the answer is the Watchtower does the Watchtower faithfully represent God or the Bible? Youll shake your head in disbelief as you read how this group of men, who seemingly don't have any more insight into scripture than the average day-to-day busy J.W., claim to understand every verse of Bible prophecy and doctrine. Unfortunately their personal view's and understanding's end up deciding other people's beliefs, hopes and lives. We, as J.W's, taught people studying with us to make sure of all things, to do research, and to leave behind false teachings. It is sad to say that we never personally examined our own religious history and organization. It was presented as unnecessary...and was actually forbidden. So w e took for granted that what we were being told by our parents and by our religious leaders was the truth of God. Is that really so extraordinary? Most of mankind live and die professing the same religion. I consider myself lucky that I finally woke up and chalked J.W.s up on the board with all the other Babylon-the-Greaters. Better late than never!
