i have a friend in the national guard and he says hes thinking about converting but they dont belive in military but he needs the army to pay for college and has a 6 year commitment.

"apocalypse" suggest disaster and distruction, this is not the basic meaning of the biblical word. the greek word "apokalypsis" has the root meaning "to uncover," and thus to cause something to be fully known it is translated by the latin word "revelatio," which means a disclosure, a revelation an apocalpse is ground in the idea that the meaning of events, of human life in general, is hidden from people and that a vision from beyond our world can "remove the veil" of ordinary perception and show the true, underlying meaning of history. the apocalypse of john (also called the book of revelation) contains many versions of disasters but it's purpose is not to show distruction. it's purpose is to see behind the scenes where the real struggle is whether or not one follows jesus ( through temptations, suffering, and even death) or whether one follows the way of the world. in this view history is a contest between good and evil, and everyone must eventually choose sides. Armageddon is not coming like the WTB&TS inc. told you it is Venice, good luck in your search.

well a catholic can marry a non-catholic in a catholic church, but that would lead to the JW being shuned. if they did marry civily, the JW would be subjected to daily emotional abuse. this would lead to the end of the WTB&TS inc. or an end to the marriage. so it might be for the best to not marry. you must rembmber the JW is a slave to the WTB&TS inc. they will be whipped for any transgressions, to the "truth" of the day.

i posted this in response to a thread by nojw86 on h2o and thought i'd see what people here thought about it.... what if the witnesses did something useful for a change?.
just think what they could accomplish, if all the effort spent writing about antitypical fulfilments of obscure psalms was spent writing magazines to educate people about, say, health and sanitation.
if, instead of full-color books on dubious details of daniel's prophecies, they printed full-color textbooks on real history, science, literature, mathematics, etc., for distribution to areas where books aren't so easy to come by.
never happen...what would that kind of work do to the profit margein?? would the WTB&TS inc. let it's slaves learn love for those outside of the corporation?
