  The Morality of the Future!

  i've been seriously taking a step back lately and criticizing and analyzing my beliefs, especially during meetings since there's nothing better to do.

  however, every time i do this i can't help but think of the future.

  how do you guys view the general moral bases of the future?

  Do you think this new age make your own morality idealogy will hold up against the billions who still look for their morality through older (or new eh) religions?

  This is spin. there is no "new age" anything it's the same old.

  Will the current democratic republic mentality of the world leaders hold up to an independent populace?

  Democracy fails without an independent population, but since it is older then christianiaty i think it will be around for some time to come.

  I mainly just want to know what you folks think will greatly help humanity as a whole. Preferably in the area of morality or education.

  one half of the world population has and will never use a phone. to help the humanity help the humans, not corporate or goverment interests.

  I'm getting a lot of negative views (mostly from my JW parents eh, but it's hard not to agree with them on some things) and I just wanted to know a few things that would help humanity as a whole. ).

  There is nothing wrong with people today that was not wrong all along world history. you are being subjected to spin apon spin. one time my still JW brother Asked me it it was true that cities are dangerous and there are more bad people in the city then in the country. I said, there are more JW in New York then any other place and there good right, so there are more of every kind of people in the city good and bad, to focus on the bad is to close your eyes to half of reality. I would like to add when you are thinking on things beware of circular arguements. like: I am the chosen of god. The chosen of god can not lie. The chosen of god must be obeyed. You know I am the chosen of god because I say I am the chosen of god. Because I can not lie you must know I speak truth. this is how people try to reason when they are full of shi*

  Why can you not question/double standard

  i have been recently reading isocf and am now on the indoctrination chapter.

  what always gripes me with the witnesses has been this one simple double standard of theirs.

  when you look at a watchtower or any publication of theirs, it has two messages.

  Can you get her to read the JWD? I belive it would give her some comfort to know she is not alone in her situation. In a crazy situation it is good for ones mentalhealth to see and be reminded that, the situation is the problem, not them.

  Tribute to London Emergency Services

  i have watched with sheer amazement all day the work of the emergency services; their sheer dedication and professionalism and skill will no doubt prevent & reduce the further prospect of fatalities....i think they deserve a huge round of applause...if ever i have had opportunity to be patriotic it is now.... what do you think?.

  If what we see on the news paints an accurate picture, these emergency management folk are well displayed and efficient. Here’s to them.

  The apocalypse stories my old man used to tell always involved people of the world turning on each other with my pops (the hero) surviving in union with all the brothers by fighting off the hordes that will surely come to take all there stuff. I always thought people don’t turn on each other during tragedies, they don’t run from them they run to them or stay to help if they can. The good people of London and so many other places of the world teach us this is true time and again.

  here's a nice little side benefit of being raised a jw then leaving; having to search the obituaries of the local paper once a month hoping that your dad's name does not turn up.

  it's doubtful that any of my "family" would even let me know, so, i know it's morbid, but i look in the local paper each month and hope that i don't see his name.... j

  When my farther's mother died (catholic) I read it in the paper, so I went to the church. I wasn't part of any religion. My old man is standing out side the church, came to Boston from Maine for it. He asks me how I found out about it. Good morning I say. (Ass hole) I read it in the paper. Kind of morbid don’t you think? Said he. No. How would I ever know when my grandparents die if I don’t read it in the paper? (Ass hole) I missed the wake but at least I made the church to pay my respects. My old man paid his respect to his god outside. (If only I could be so persecuted).

  Nothing morbid about it. that “morbid” spin is only part of the shunning. It pisses them off that we can’t be excluded.

  and its over "why moral restraint...not removed when 10 commandments passed away".

  so i think this is talking about why the people in the greek scriptures couldnt do their neighbors wife, or you couldnt kill your neighbor even though the 10 commandments wasnt there.

  how many bible scriptures should i use?

  if you violate any of the 10 commandments, you violate the law of love. how can you love someone as you love your self and do him wrong? The law of love is the fulfillment of the law. "love is gentle love is kind...."
