  this board has been a wonderful experience.

  Death in family/JW funeral

  this has been a most dreadful 2 weeks for me.

  my mother, a faithful jw, finally died after a long illness.i had been by her side all the way., my brother& wife , the jw ,rarely made an apperance-but showed up at last minute to make sure he got her jewelry.

  he rarely showed up because i am not active so not considered good association.also he had no close feelings for her.

  My heart and thoughts are with you at this very sad time. I lost my mother, too, after 30 years of shunning her (I was the jw and she wasn't). We became friends again before her death. At least you and I have that, they knew we loved them. It was one of the hardest things I had to go through, losing her and believe me when I say, I know your pain.

  My son is on the USS Enterprise and I also know how hard this is for you. Somehow we get through these things, but it's not easy.

  spiritual conversation with an elder yesterday

  i am writing this more for myself than anything..it just hurt so deeply... my hubby has been an elder for 20+ years..my status is baptized,,no.

  meetings, association ect for over one year now... we were watching the news,,and pres.

  bush was talking about the u.n.. with genuine concern and in all honesty i stated that i did not know how.

  Ugg, all I can say is that it must be very, very difficult to be married to a jw and feel the way you do. He is so blinded (as we all were) and just accepts things, without question, that are so unreasonable. And, all you can do is keep quiet and let him.

  When I got df'd years ago, I didn't go to the judicial meeting.

  I think your decision is a good one. In my case, I just drifted away and haven't had any repercussions for the five years I've been gone. But, I don't have any family and I don't give a rat's ass if they disfellowship me down the road. They lost the power they had over me long ago.

  Whats important in our religion?

  i have read a lot her about this issu, and it is always end upp in year we have said that something perhaps will happend, and thats not so good ofcourse, even if the gissipels ask jesus will your kingdom come in this itime, so some was waiting fore this, was they wrong now, nothing say that, but i agree it is not good fore the reputaition of the name of jehova.. something you never tell is that what i think is the most important in the religion is not this waiting fore the end.. it is the bigg unike thing fore jw, where are we when we are dead, answer sleeping, waiting fore the .

  resurruection.

  as we now the other religion say , hell or heaven, bigg diffrence.. number two, jehova is only one ,jesus is hes son, who shall give us blessing in the kingdom on earth, als0 very unik.. number three is that we belife name of the lord is <jehova, very unik, and important.. we have some more things, but this things who you can say are seperating us from the rest of diffrent religions, and this have never been change.

  This reminds me of my coworkers. They talk trash about everyone else to look good.

  Happy, what if the things you are taught aren't true? Then, your whole life is based on words of imperfect men. Why I'm here and the purpose of life aren't that important to me. If we follow the golden rule, loving the Creator and our neighbors, nothing else really matters. At least that's how I feel.

  I didn't become a jw until my early 20s. My inadequecies were pretty much my own long before becoming one. Minimus, your subject line reminds me of the Avino ad where the woman is dramatically crying over a ruined life due to hair loss. If my life is ruined, I've got me to blame.

  Anyone who hurls insults at us dumb, 'fluffy' people because we don't want to delve deeply into wt publications and expound on them certainly does act like he has just left the religion.

  I have found the content in their magazines to be highly unreadable for a long time. I guess 'fear and ignorance' doesn't fit on my plate anymore.
