  scootergirl, you have been just amazing with all you have done on behalf of the secret santa gift exchange.

  you proved what being a real christain is really all about.

  for years i wondered what having christamas would be like, and i am sure many of us here , this is our first year to celebrate it.

  Calling all Los Angeles folks

  as some of you know, i commute from phoenix, az to los angeles for my job.

  it will last thru january.. several of us have been unsuccessful in getting together thus far, but came up with a plan during a weekend i am there.

  i will be staying over thru the weekend of january 4th, in the hotel in el segundo, http://www.embassysuites.com/en/es/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=laxeses .. the hotel has a happy hour from 530pm to 730pm, guests are included.

  Scootlet, you are Christmas personified!!! Yesterday I received a lovely Christmas card from Scooter and an great!!!!!!!!!! gift from my secret Santa!!! Can I tell? Can I tell what I got and who my Santa is??? This has been such fun and I know what you mean, Lyin (Happy Birthday, btw), I will always have a connection with this person and think of him when I use my gift! This is so cool!!!!

  Can't thank you enough, Scooter, for making my Christmas extra special!

  And to my Secret Santa: Thank you, thank you, thank you! My gift is not only beautiful, it is PERFECT! And the Christmas card you enclosed is simply beautiful. Please tell me what color your kitchen is, k? I can tell that you need one of my famous dish cloths! :)

  I guess everyone has his own 'true religion'. Just stick me out in nature by myself and I find my true religion every time.

  I guess everyone has his own 'true religion'. Just stick me out in nature by myself and I find my true religion every time.

  I'm getting a headache. Couldn't you just post two different threads? At the risk of you changing it again, I will leave my original answer above.

  Can I still find scriptures? Yeppers, it's like riding a bike, you may get a little rusty, but you can still do it.

  Alone at new years eve again

  new years eve 1996 was the last time i enjoyed a new years eve with a girlfriend.

  even though i wasnt into celebtrating it in a major way because of the jw influence on my life, it was a really great time to be with someone i cared about.

  1997 onwards i became involved with the jws and of course i couldnt become involved with a worldly girl, so i became celebate.

  Wallowing can be a good thing, Pleasure. I like to wallow. But, you are right. You gotta pick yourself up and get over it.

  The truth is, unless you're a jw or total introvert, it's no fun being alone on New Year's Eve. You know that most everyone else is out merry-making, while you're sitting there reading a book. Then, when it's midnight, you hear all the cheers and fireworks. So, wallow away and know that every year won't be this way.

  Loneliness IS a real problem, don't sell yourself short. I've spent lots of time feeling alone and sad. It's just that now I kind of like being on my own. If you are really looking for someone, try looking in places that you like. If you like to read, go to the library or a book store. If you like nature, go out on a trail. I have met some outstanding people in Yahoo Personals as well. You know what I mean.

  (((Elsie))) I, for one, was like your brother. My half-assed mormon step-father and I used to get into it awful. The Trinity was our favorite argument. He loved saying Elohim (proving that God's name was plural, yadda yadda). I stopped speaking to my mom and him for several years because of it. What I couldn't understand was why I would get so incredibly upset with him (when, after all, I had the TRUTH and Holy Spirit, to boot). I would literally shake. Sorry that you are going through this. Sometimes it's best just to leave things as they are.

  My landlord is such a complete dork

  if there are any real estate agents out there, or people who know about such matters, i would really appreciate some opinions.... if not, i could really use some plain old sympathy.

  just 8 months ago, my mate & i moved over 1000 miles to a new state .

  we found a house to rent.
