OK to Check In?

i just felt the need to check in.

i've just felt so touched at the heart by those of you who responded with such loving interest yesterday.

and while i need to be grown up, responsible, and wise, sometimes all i want is for someone to love me and keep me safe.

Hi trouble,

I'm glad your back with us. The things you are finding out are painfull but, at least you got the guts to look at them.

Many people in your shoes would just put the blinders on and try to forget about it, to run away from it, but you have choosen the braver coarse.

You may feel pain now but in time you will be feeling much better, we all been thru it(the shock).

Medication will help you and when you feel better you will be able to stand on your own, just give it time.

Life has its pain and we all wish we could find someone who could tell us everthing that we need to do, CULTS claim to be that someone.

Life is a wounderfull thing and it offers us many challeges with many roads we can travel and Jesus said "keep seeking and you will find" it's there you will find it (if you keep seeking). What you'll find if you keep seeking will be even better than what the WT can offer beleive me.

when godrules asked for "facts" that show jws are wrong, among the respondants was alanf.

alanf linked to his essay showing the dishonest way the creation book quotes evolutionists.

Hang in their, you have a lot to live for. I'm afraid of saying the wrong thing because you are at a very delicate point in your life.

I think Maximus has some very good advice, take advantage of the medical experts. Go see a Doctor, please get some help.

Depression when we have it seems so permanant but, its not it just feels so bad, we think it will last forever.

Go get some medical help! Please call a Doctor right away. You will be glad you did.

Its good you have this group here to help you and we share your pain we really do, I think we have all had our share of emotional pain. If something happened to you we would all hurt so very deeply.

Hang in their, life is not as bad as you feel it is right now. It will pass and brighter times are just ahead.

Two Different Views/Hypocrisy

what's hard is seeing things 2 different ways.. in other words, sometimes when i realistically look at things in the organization (without pushing away the uncomfortable thoughts or feeling guilty), i come to the conclusion that "yes, something is definitely wrong in this organization.".

but then when i go to the meetings, service, etc., i think differently (i.e., "this is the truth, and i'm just spiritually weak and need to study more).

since i seem to be influenced both directions, how can i be sure which viewpoint is right?

Dear Troubled,

I use to be an elder and I know how you feel.

Many say where do we go if we leave the WT. We feel lost if we leave. Many see the lies the WT teaches and leave and they have a certain emptiness.

God does not have an organization that we can go to, and then we are set for eternity.

We individually have to develope a personal relationship with him. Read and reread Ray Franz book "In Search of Christian Freedom" it will really help you to see where you should go(you go to our master Christ).

Organizations enslave because that is just the nature of organization, an organization is not interested in truth only its self preservation. And will use questionable means to futher itself like we see the WT doing. It should not suprise us.

You can have a very loving and close relationship with Jehovah that has nothing to do with what organizaton you belong to.

welcome to this site- after thinking about it for awhile and reading through all 7 pages i have come to the conclusion that actually it is a good thing that you have chosen to use some pretty large words on these threads-.

while i in noway understood half of what you have written-- i am impressed- i started thinking-- where would a person like this fit into wt world esp if you are a male.

Thanks for simpifing you speech its nice to read your input.
A man who really knows his subject can in my estimation break it down and explain it so all can understand. I hope your not too hurt by some comments. Please feel free to tell us more about your feeling on different matter. As you can see alot of people read your posts.

Just make it a little easier for us all to understand. You never know what you might accomplish.

Apostates at assemblies...

anyone here got any stories about apostates going on the rampage at any meetings, assemblies, conventions.. i haven't seen any but a young witness told me that his previous cong.

called the police to a meeting cos a df person went apesh*t once.. also, all aussie jw's should know about the riot at a glenelg convention in adelaide in the 1940's where apostates rushed to the sound equipment and some jw stood in there way and kinghit one of them.

I think we need to get our heads together and come up with some way to get information to the average JW. Maybe their is something starring us right in the face and we don't even know it. I mean something simple that we never tried maybe some one out there got a real good idea that is worth a shot.

I think people who picket are doing something very valuble. It's just not what I would do.

Maybe some lurker out there has a good idea and might be something that you would do and I woundn't but together if everybody did something who knows what can be accomplished. We got a lot of good thinkers out there.

I like to give a special thanks to those who accomplish a lot on the Internet. They helped me.

I only went on 6/20/01 to the Cow Palace. And didn't see your group then probably because I left right after they kicked me out. I went their to give all 5 elders a copy of my appeal letter.

And latter at my appeal they said I was handing out literature at the convention which was not true because I only was passing out my appeal letter to the 5 elders involved.

I not stupid enough to even think anybody would ever be seen excepting apposing literature at a convention (to much peer pressure).

Anyway it was a memerable experiance and I would encourage anyone to try it, if you don't mind a little scorning.

Who knows you might get someone to think for themselves.

I went to a DC at the Cow Palace in San Francisco this year and brought the books "Crisis of Conscience" and "Combating Cult Mind Control".

I got there real early so I could pick my seat and chose a isle seat in the front pull out section. They had a lot of traffic in this isle.
I then proceeded to pull out both books and put them where the most persons could read, them their titles are quite large.

All durring the mourning session I was holding up one of these books and reading it. I was getting some glares and stares. I was not DF'd at the time and many people their knew me, sense it was our congregation's DC.

As I was walking around the place durring noon intermission, I was aproached by a couple of attendants and told that I had to hide the books or else they would force me to leave. After they made it clear they would not tolerate and public display of my books I decided to comply with their ultimatum and leave.

They had six good size attendants follow me as I left. They wanted me to take the non conspicuos route but I chose to take the long way thru the most traffic in the place. It was really quite funny I keep looking back at the six guards as they followed me around the place. They even escorted me to my car, to make sure I talked to no one. I tried conversing with my new body guards but when I made any points they would tell me to stop talking, they seemed afraid of what I had to say.

Even when I got to my car they all surrounded it and walked along side of it as I drove to the exit. I told them I didn't pay for any parking ticket. They said that's okay it was on them(ha ha).
