  freedom allows all opinions and facts to be uncovered.

  letting people air everything helps us understand what the issues truly are.

  sure some are more unprofessional than others but a person willing to understand what is going on will not worry about the "ad hominem" attack or swearing.

  Bethel rules... fables or truth...

  can you all enlighten me, i have heard certain "bethel rules" and wanted to find out if they are fact or fiction.

  1. only one item on any surface at any time (a phone or lamp etc.. as long as it is just 1 item.).

  2. allowance of $80 a month for toiletries etc... (has that allowance gone up).

  D wiltshire here.

  Yeah I was in around 74-76 and I think maybe took off about 5 or 6 sick days total.
  She pissed me off so much that I took a couple of extra days off just because I didn't like to be question whether I was sick or not.
  I figured I was volunteer and shouldn't be put through the third degree to prove I was sick.

  Any way when they got rid of the 4 year requirement I left to get married.
  I didn't want to be dependant on the Society for my food or shelter.

  I remember when I was an elder in the begining i thought the older brother were to soft, but after a few years experience I mellowed out some what and learned not to rely on the Society.

  Quite a few of the more experienced brothers that I knew would not openly go against the Society but you could tell they were alot more merciful and would often NOT look at things the way the Org did.

  It was usually the newer elders for the most part that felt the need to stick to the letter not of the law, but the letter of the Society's instruction.

  I remember one more experienced brother saying to a brother we just appointed an elder, when we gave him the elder's handbook from the Society, he said to him: "becareful the stuff in this book don't eat up your brains".

  I still being relatively new(3yrs.) as a elder was shocked by this statement, but as the years went by, found out that this was some very good advice.

  Latter as time went on I used to hate it when brothers would bring out the Society's elder handbook at our elder's meeting and give it more attention than the Bible. It seemed to me we had become just like the Pharasees.

  Eulogy for My Father

  on tuesday, august 4, 2001 at 3:42.a.m.

  mst, duane floyd checketts, 77 died in his sleep due to complications from pneumonia.

  he is survived by his wife bette and two children, douglas checketts, patty smith, and 8 grandchildren.. duane, who was fondly called duke by everyone who knew him was born in farmington, utah on march 8, 1924. his father floyd, was one of 10 children raised in a tiny house built by his own mormon father who immigrated in the early 1860's from birmingham, england.

  on the cover is a bunch of mormomns and they stare at me as if to say bwahahahaha.. anyone read the article?

  it looks in favor of mormons and ignores the many signs of it being a cult.

  You have to realize that we were fooled once by the WT who claimed to speak for God.

  And we are not just going to let you make the same claim without being challaged from time to time.

  Persons often make those claims to get people under mind control.
  They do it ever so slowly.

  Just to let you know this is how I feel.

  Don't paint with such a broad brush. Errors in research occur. Some deliberately, some despite best efforts. Spotting them is easy if you are well-versed in the subject matter, as I am in this one.

  Please do tell us more about where we are wrong since you are an expert in this feild.
