i know this was very wrong to do , but who out there stretched their field service time by any means possible?
example, letter writing, driving by the same house , when you knew no one was home.

Way to go biblexaminer! I did this too. Was counting 40 hours a month and never knocked on one door, wrote one letter, or showed up to field service meetings. One elder approached me about my time, as to how I was getting it all in. I told him that I resented his question and to worry about his own relationship with God. They never asked me again.

Yep, it is hard work and not all the 6 billion people will accept WTS doctrines. I know I won't accept WTS doctrines because they're so full of it.

for those that are dis-fellowshipped or dis-associated: do you speak to jw's even though they know you're disfellowshipped or dis-associated?
There are alot who do not realize I've been disfellowshipped, so I carry on a conversation with them if they initiate it. Then there are the ones who do know I've been df. And because my personality is one that just speaks - like "Hi, how are you?" - to people that I know, I've found myself doing that out of habit to those that I run into in town that know I've been df. Whenever they see me and hear me speak, they turn corpsy, as in skeletal, and their eyes look like a robot, rolling away like having been programmed to do so. Of course they have been! Anyway, I don't speak to them to be mean, it's just my personality.

i thought i'd recap some of the arguments presented even though i didn't get to touch on all of the different counter arguments i would have liked to present.. on "worldly" people: i tried to explain what it felt like when i first realized that derogatory comments were being said about non-witnesses.

) and wondering if i was god what would i have made shure was in the bible.. for a start i would have tried to help my human creatures fight against diseases.. it would'nt have took many pages to explian that there were such things as germs and that you needed to wash things well , and boil contaminated water etc.. this would have prevented millions of early deaths and a lot of suffering.
I just recently learned how the Bible came to be in its form. As Witnesses, this item is never really touched on since they teach that religious leaders after the apostles' deaths were products of the devil and God was not backing them. Anyway, my priest talked about how religious leaders sat down at some council and decided which books would make up the Bible. And, they had a number of them to choose from - including writings by women. I just thought - WOW. And all these years I just assumed God just dropped the Bible out of the sky. But doesn't this prove that God was in fact working with religious leaders and that His spirit was active on earth and didn't leave for centuries and return in the late 1800's. And doesn't it suggest that God is using all religions?

is it unusual for a jw to allow their children to go on school class trips to washington d.c.?
because of their beliefs, i would think going to d.c. on a class trip would be a no-no.
When I was a kid, there was this trip to DC that came up. I just knew not to ask if I could go because of the whole "bad association spoils useful habits" bullshit. But I did ask, and to my disbelief my parents allowed me to go for that day trip. I had the absolute greatest time and wish that they had encouraged inclusion in other activities as well. But as everyone else has stated, night trips were a no no, as was dances and other things - many many other things.

ozziepost just posted concerning the may 15 watchtower about attending a funeral in a church.
because my subscription for the watchtower has discontinued, i called the local kh and asked them to deliver the watchtowers to me.
this is not in the area of where they know me, but i hope none of them recognize me when they come by.

But now I'm nervous about this and thinking maybe I should not have given them my information. Does anyone know another way to get the Watchtower. I've enjoyed showing their crazy ideas to friends from my church. I still receive the Awake in the mail, but that doesn't touch on too much doctrine crap. Any comments?

I'm curious to know if witness baptisms are done in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, or does that only apply to the anointed. Why am I under the impression that a witness baptism is not the same as other religions - ie. as a member of great crowd, one is not considered a child of God - only the anointed, whereas baptisms in other religions symbolize a person being accepted as a child of God.
