as many people already know, using the term "the truth" to describe an organization's teachings is a brilliant way to constantly reaffirm it's validity subconsciously.
it's a great use of repetition to establish as fact that which is only opinion.. i keep hearing the phrase "the friends".
aside from the fact that i really don't like the terminology, i couldn't help but wonder if this isn't just another use of repetition and loaded language to enforce the belief that all of the people who share the same religion actually are your friends.. in some ways, i think it would be beneficial for some folks to drop "the truth" and "the friends" from their vocabulary so that they aren't continuing to immerse themselves in group-lingo that's intended to elicit certain emotional responses and associations.. what other loaded language can you come up with that is quasi-specific to jehovah's witnesses?

i joined this group in february, however had been surfing the various websites that expose the witnesses' lies since being disfellowshipped last august.
the support from those sites and this board have been invaluable.
today, i no longer have the fear of having left the organization.
I joined this group in February, however had been surfing the various websites that expose the Witnesses' lies since being disfellowshipped last August. The support from those sites and this board have been invaluable. Today, I no longer have the fear of having left the organization. The only negative feeling I get is when I see other 30-year-old women who have their Masters Degrees and are married with a family - the normal things God instilled in all of us. When I see these women, it sickens me to think about all the time wasted in my life. I'm happy to announce that I've just been accepted as a student at a local university beginning this fall. I plan to enjoy the rest of my life. Thanks to all of you for your help and support!
i checked the nbc time line for shows on may 28th and they have dateline listed as running at 8:00 p.m. est.
that evening with the nba game following.
normally dateline runs at 10:00 p.m. on tuesday, but they must have changed it for the game.
Go to www.nbc.com and click TV schedule at top of screen.

If you go to the NBC main website and click TV schedule at the top. Sorry I don't know how to post web links here.
Thanks

"do witnesses break up families?
" has been a common topic over the years.
this topic has been brought home to mrs ozzie and i by the following 'un-invitation card'.
When my sister was married, my brother was invited to the wedding ceremony in the Kingdom Hall, but not the reception. Well, before they got married, they went down behind the barn to make sure everything worked okay, and then confessed. The brothers wouldn't let them get married in the Kingdom Hall so the reception hall is where they moved everything to. My brother was unaware of the reason it had been moved to the reception hall and assumed that it was so that he could attend both events. He is such a humble guy and really believed this. My father was still an elder at the time and gave the wedding talk. After the wedding people were talking to my brother even though they knew his situation. Two weeks after that, my father was deleted. We can't figure out if it was because of my brother's attendance at the reception, of which my father was furious over and actually pulled poor Allen out of the reception hall - or if it was because of my sister trying the sex thing out before marriage. If the latter is the case, they allowed him to remain an elder long enough to give that talk and to marry her. Chaps my ass if you ask me.
elder concerned called me last night.
we talked about a few of my concerns and why i haven't been to meetings/service in the last few months.
he has set up an appointment with my husband and i for next monday.
They're coming. Quick everybody - HIDE!
i have read a number of posts in the past few weeks from people who felt they had a heavenly hope and struggled with the issue "how do i handle the memorial" or "what will my friends think".. this interests me because i struggled with quite the opposite.
i always believed i was of the earthly class and that is where my hope always was.. when i started going to a new church last year and hearing about a heavenly hope i really struggled with this.
i couldn't imagine myself going to heaven - even if for a short time until the earth is made new.
Dawn, I'm struggling with the same thing. I truly believe heaven exists, but don't necessarily think that I will go there. Although, I've found a new fascination with heaven, because just maybe I will go there. In fact, I just scheduled an appointment with my priest about this very topic. Thanks for the post.
ok you slutty and independent slobs, pay attention.
how many instances of loaded language and mind-control techniques can you spot in the following article from the may 2002 km?
whoever gets the most wins a brown suit from goodwill.. modesty in dress and grooming- km may 2002.
God is interested in what is on the inside of a person, not the outside. They take one scripture and turn it into a "set" of rules. In my church, the homeless attend. Upwards of fifty every Sunday. They wear rags. I realize they would be frowned upon for doing so in a Kingdom Hall. To witnesses, it's not about the heart. The legalistic bastards!
okay - it amazes me the information i've seen you guys get about people on this board.
dawn started the post, "to lotus - what needs to change.
" sf responded to that post by exposing lotus through activity on another website.

I'm scared one of these days I'm going to find a post exposing my underwear size. Are you peepin' at me through technology?
