  us navy, why use us navy photos, dont wt have any non miltary sourced pictures they could have used.

  I believe you missed the point of my comment.

  I don't deny that later, as the church was beginning to gain momentum, persecution happened and 'christians' were executed. That's all well and good.

  The problem is that their is no proof outside of christianity that the GOSPEL WRITERS did, in fact, DIE FOR THEIR WRITINGS.

  In any case, 'Foxes Book of Martyrs' is perhaps one of the worst cases to use. It is written from a protestant point of view (already christian), telling tales of how terrible the catholic false religion is oppressing 'true christians'.

  It does seem to detail the early apostles, but only so far as they are associated with the 'correct understanding of christ' that the protestant churches have.

  And, where, pray tell, does he GET these details of apostolic persecution? Why, from the Catholic church, of course!

  IOW, The author has an obvious agenda and is writing a book for those with obvious agendas pulling from sources with an obvious agenda (at least, in the case of the apostles).

  For the love of the gods people, get with the program. It's the friggin 21st century, the two aren't related. If you object on principle and nothing else - YOU NEED TO LOOK AT YOUR PRINCIPLES - THAT's where the only problem is!

  It's only a little hypocritical, and only if you think about it 'too much'.

  But, yeah, the society has ALWAYS used photos from the US Navy/Air Force/Army/etc. Too bad they don't index it, but if you paid attention to the back of the mags as they came out (when they attributed photos used in the mag), youd've noticed this MANY times.

  And, they'll be the first to call on the police if they've been robbed. And, you'd better believe they'd be happy to see the US Marines if US members were overseas and came under attack.

  I believe they explain this away as being wise with their 'unrighteous riches'. You know, the perks they get for being inseperably linked with the world even though they are 'no part of the world'.

  Which is why the bulk of JWs don't really have a problem with the 'library card' excuse. It's just the society being wise with their 'unrighteous riches'.

  Since issues of violence against women and children and porn are closely related at the very least in peoples' minds

  1) They AREN'T, in fact, related at all

  2) The Silentlambs site is, very clearly, quite opposed to child abuse in no uncertain terms. How could someone, viewing it's contents, ever even wonder about its motives?

  Indeed, how could the average web user (who just clicks on a link from Yahoo or somesuch) even find OUT about the 'other sites' he runs? Easy: they can't. The only way is if people like those posting on this thread try and make a scandal out of someone hosting porn sites and a child abuse prevention site (which are two completely unrelated things).

  I have to ask what kind of idiocy is going on in this thread? No one is going to know that he hosts porn sites unless they have the technical knowledge and curiosity to find out, and of those who do, most are quite clearly aware of the distinction between porn and child molestation.

  You're making a mountain out of a molehill.
