Went to the weeknight meeting this week for the first time in a long while. The study was all about how having children was ill-advised in this time of the end- the comments dwelled on what a burden children are, how you can spend more time in the ministry without children, and look what they did in Jerusalem- they cannabilized their own children! It's going to be so horrible to watch our children suffer during the great tribulation! Since I had an actual child sitting on either side of me- WTF! I had to repeatedly lean over and tell them how happy I am to have them, they would never be a burden to me, and I will protect them from any harm til the day I die. Question is- why do I have to do this at a meeting this is supposed to upbuild and encourage? Lurking elders and GB- this is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! Want to drive me away from the meetings? Going after my kids is a home run.

There are very few JWs with law degrees. I have had several JW friends go to law school and not one graduated still a JW. Likely because of the emphasis on critical thinking skills, getting both sides of an issue, generally using your brain, etc. Come to think of it, if there are moles or conscious class members at Bethel, I'd start with the legal department. They've got to know what's really going on.

Like that scene in Star Wars where Princess Leia watches her whole world blown to pieces and there isn't a darn thing she can do about it.

Fish in the sand and dove leaving the WT
by dissonance_resolved inso i've been pondering that there must be quite a few active jws out there who are conscious/awakened/lurking, but it's so risky to ask questions to find out they are.
i'm sure this isn't anywhere in the watchtower, but i've read that early christians had the secret symbol of the fish to help identify friends, i.e.
drawing a fish in the sand would secretly identify someone as being a christian.

SkyGreen- sounds good. Apparently, you can only post one new topic per day, so I will wait the requisite 24 hours and repost in the members only section, unless someone else wants to do it. I just thought it would be good to put in this section since not all lurkers become members.

Granted, but it could even be the simplified version of a bird, like the cursive letter N. Haha- that could even figuratively show how far you've flown the coop!

So I've been pondering that there must be quite a few active JWs out there who are conscious/awakened/lurking, but it's so risky to ask questions to find out they are. I'm sure this isn't anywhere in the Watchtower, but I've read that early Christians had the secret symbol of the fish to help identify friends, I.e. drawing a fish in the sand would secretly identify someone as being a Christian. So in looking at the new logo for AAWA, I was struck by the image of the dove flying away from the WT. What if you were sitting at a meeting and looking over, noticed that someone had drawn that same type of bird next to the watchtower logo on their magazine? Would it be a way to help secretly identify each other? It's still risky as I'm sure there are elders lurking who then might be looking for the accusing doodle, but if confronted, any evidence would be entirely circumstantial. But if you were able to catch someone's eye and have that moment of understanding, it would be worth the risk to me.

BROTHERS & SISTERS - READ THE BROCHURE!
by The Searcher injesus always used illustrations to help people reason on the import of what he was saying.
here is an illustration followed by a reality;.
imagine that your heart went out to all those poor people who suffered when fukushima blew up, so much so, that when an internationally renowned charity asked for donations to help those in need, you donated $5000 to the cause.

The cost for our recent one day assembly was over $21,000. Hefty price tag when there were less than 1000 attending.

Who is paying for this?!!?!?
by DATA-DOG inremember a while back when the wtbts wanted more money to bring home missionaries?
i have been looking for that thread to no avail.
anyway, each and every kh that adopted that resolution is contributing a good deal of money to the wtbt$ based on the amount of publishers.

Just a thought- if they're using their credit cards right, they should have enough frequent flyer miles to fly every missionary home and back several times over. Might even put some airlines out of business.
