***Part Six***The Long Long Road
by zev inpart 6. the long long road.. in reflection upon the last 6 years, i'd have to say this was the longest road of my life.. it had become apparent to me i was changing.
the things about the watchtower that bothered me became more and more disturbing.
so much so, that rather than face these things, i buried them away, and would not talk about my "faith" like everyone else.. i became a follower, rather than the leader i once was.

In reading your post, I don't think you even realize how horrible you've been treated. I think the first step is to get angry! You are worth more than that. She is using you for your good nature. I truly, really hope that you can get out of that situation and find the truth about your worth,and get to love yourself again. What a tradgedy, please don't let her win.

They say they are going to throw out the dos and don'ts, but in a very recent post where a letter to the elders was posted, they sure had some very specific do's and don'ts. Dont' talk to a sister on the phone, dont meet with her alone etc. etc.

Questions my parents could never answer:
1. What about faithful children with unfaithful parents? The Watchtower clearly states that there will be to many children versus adults for the children to be resurrected. After all children can't raise themselves.2. What about marriage? If your spouse doesn't make it, can you mourn them, or does god just automatically take away your love for them? No thank you. I don't want anyone to wipe out the love I have for my husband.
3. What about the children? What is the magic age? Is it 18? If you are over 18, you might get resurrected? Because if your older than that, no one will be available to take care of you.
Just a few things I never could come to terms with...

i personally feel it is a method of self expression.
i mean, i would never go and get everthing possible pierced, but i do have 2 holes in each ear, and a newly acquired belly ring.. i got my belly done 3 weeks ago, on spring break.

I just got my nose pierced and It was explained to me that it was totally wrong because we have to conform to normal standards and not try and be vain and the scripture was read about "excessive braiding" of the hair, etc etc. blah blah blah.

here's one that just happened at work that is an annoyance for me: when you are speaking and the person interrupts the conversation with a corny play on words or the like.

People that crowd me and stand in personal space in the stores when there is two thousand feet of empty space behind them, they have to stand on my heels. I never ever go to wal mart because of that.

I would have to say that guilt and being made to feel self hatred was the biggest reason I left the borg. I was SO tired of feeling like the scum of the earth when I was trying my hardest. they just wore me out. Your bad your bad your bad, its in every magazine, talk and attitude, your never good enough. I took it very personally to the point of hurting myself repeatedly. After the authoritys started questioning my trips to the ER, I had to finally ask myself, Am I really that bad? I still struggle with this daily. I hate the organization for this.
