I'm not crazy about soy products in general...the information on the internet provides both good benefits and dangers of soy. Tempeh and miso are good choices because they are fermented. Non-gmo organic soy products are supposed to be ok in moderation. I put soy milk in my coffee when I am trying to eat more like a vegan, but I am an omnivore for the most part. I use tofu maybe a few times a year. Eat beans, nuts, seeds, whole grains, vegetables, fruits...some soy.

Well JW believe Jesus already came back a 2nd time in 1914, right? Invisibly? Now I believe he will come back visibly and the "every knee will bow" part makes me smile.

I am in the same situation as Enlightenment123... a born in and the only one in my family who isn't still in. I don't show them scriptures, though, because they are blind. I pray they will learn the tatt one day and if He will use me in that effort, great! But if not, I pray it happens anyway. When I went to the memorial, I realized how far away I was from that and it made me so happy, but sad for them! I go to a baptist church now where I learned about Grace (undeserved kindness) and what it really means to have freedom in Christ. It took a while, though, to get through the "works based" teachings of earning our salvation. So glad I left and learned about Jesus!!!

I go between 4, 6 and 7, but this is an accurate list. I do feel bad about the grumbling because I'm kind of being like them in a sense (thinking I am better than them) because of the rejection and the devil worshipping comments about me. Our pastor at church said that you can become like the people that you are unable to forgive and it's true in this case. Letting it go would be nice. It would be easier if my whole family (except husband and son) wasn't still. I'm the only one who isn't in it anymore. Not disfellowshipped yet and have no intentions of going into that back room for that! I'm a little scared of them, truthfully.

I heard my dad say that after armageddon our job would be to clean up all the dead bodies and bones. I read the scripture that he was referring to - in Ezekial, it also mentioned that we would drink the blood and become drunk, but I guess we decided not to do that.

I traded most of it in at the used book store for store credit. Threw the rest away. I do have a copy of the 2 bibles, though. And a My book of bible stories for nastalgia. I have read some of it to my son, just skipped over the untrue parts.

I went for a few reasons. Mostly to get closure and boy, I got it!! What a joke! And my husband said that he didn't understand why anyone would put themselves through that ever again! It was kind of nice to see a few people. My family are all JW and I felt so awkward that I had absolutely nothing to say to them. It was weird because when I visit them at their house, we have no problem talking, but there - it was like my mind went blank. My mom gave me the biggest hug in my life and told me she loved me and looked like she was about to cry. She never does that when I visit her at her house, I initiate the hugs and love talk. So, that was a little annoying, for sure! They mentioned the animals we'd get to pet, the 2 hopes, the fact that we are not a part of the new covenant. That part made me the maddest. Oh, and if they believe Jesus forgives our sins, why do they have to "beg" Jehovah's forgiveness for our "shortcomings"? From what I have studied, Jesus forgives us for past and future - we are forgiven. We can feel bad and repent of mistakes that we make, but we don't have to ask for forgiveness over and over because Jesus accomplished that when he died. He lived a perfect life because we are unable. Also, they talked about rules of the household. Rules were part of the old covenant. We are part of the new covenant. Anyway, it made me mad. But, it made me feel sorry for the genuine people there that are getting deceived. Sad.

Talking with a nonbeliever...
by suavojr inin my search for the truth and the burning desire to become free from all forms of dogma and wishful thinking.
i have approached my first crossroads in my life, should i continue to believe in a god or not?.
currently i am leaning toward agnosticism, but all the suffering in the world, all the loss and pain in my own life makes it hard for me to simply let go of the idea and hope that at the end justice will prevail, that one day god can make it all good.. .

I would be cautious about not believing in God or Jesus. They are real. One day every knee will bow. Just believe and never look back. Just because you leave JW doesn't mean all is lost. Regroup, do some research and don't give up the faith!!

Why doesn't god do anything tangible now?
by punkofnice ini was always told that god did loads of stuff that was evidence of his existance.
ususally very brutal things too (b#st@rd).. jesus walked on water and raised the dead we are told.. it seems to me also that the older the story, the more exaggerated it is...y'know...talking snake......global flood.. there are those that claim god speaks to them now and they alone 'know' it.
(cuckoo!!!).

Because in this country we basically have a lack of faith. Jesus did not do miracles in his hometown because of their lack of faith. On the other hand, in other countries, there are miracles happening because, since they have not heard the gospel and believe in crazy nonsense, God has to speak loudly to be able to move those people. I have heard firsthand stories and it is amazing! I would love to see that! God is real, though, make no mistake!!
