  Tell Us About Your JW Father If You Had One.

  we are great friends now....but he wasn't much of a father growing up.. worked all the time...we went on few vacations....pretty much pussy whipped my my nazis jw mother.. he never did believe in the whole jw thing.

  he just when along with it, for my mothers sake.. she never did respect him for not being a "spiritual head" and pretty much let us kids know about it.. i, like my mother became very self rightious and judgmental.. i wished now he had just came to me just once and said "keith maybe the jws are not the people you think they are.

  " but he was to afraid of my mother to say that...even though he knew it to be true.i would have never believed him....back then....but it would have planted a seed.... .

  I loved him eventho he kept me at arms length right up until the moment he flew over the handlebars and his head hit the concrete and my relationship possibilities with him ended....damn JW's....

  He taught me so much....before i got df'd....gave me a love of chess and reading and of learning....but the same time told me that the witnesses were right...he died before i ever got a REAL chance to show him the person i am today...

  He did the best he could in raising me and my sis....my sis still in the borg....mom still there too....but my chances to regain him have run out....eh...whatever...love u dad....

  Disfellowshipped

  iam now as what was announced at a recent meeting that iam "no longer a jehovah's witness" all of my family and friends are witnesses so this will ailenate me from all of my friends and family.

  but i feel like i don't want to go back.

  i really hate the feeling of isolation and shamefulness while iam sitting in the meeting, what's the point of it all.

  hey....df'd here for over ten years and that feeling doesnt go away..it just gets duller...with occasional blurts of extreme anger...gets easier with time tho...somewhat..its all a matter of perspective...

  cheap tickets go on sale in early jan., the event is'nt 'til august, i've tried to arrange meetups, but always at the 11th hour.

  Anyone else working today!!

  i can't believe i have to work today, there are only 4 people in my office today, we usually have about 14 people, seems like only the lucky few got stuck working today, haven't had to answer a single call for me, all the people i have to call are off today, so i am just sitting here cleaning up my desk.

  anyone else working christmas eve?

  yep...me workin a split today...10 hours....and another 10 tomorrow....not that i have anywhere to be other than work on xmas eve and day....good money anyhow...slow day...funny i got to work this mng and it was me and 4 other active JW's...lol..go fig....

  2-if you were, was your family very "theocratic" or not so much?.

  COULD YOU HANDLE LIFE ALONE?

  if you mate died suddenly or left you, could you handle life alone?

  would you remain single or get married again?

  i ask this because my brother in law's witness mom just died recently, and we're wondering how his dad is going to handle life alone now.

  This ones hitting my life kind of hard at the present time...my mother being left alone after 33 years of marriage and easily almost 40 plus of being dedicated to him by a sudden accident has left her broken...and left me wondering how to deal with the new dynamic...everyday is a new up and then down....but then its still relatively fresh so maybe after a year or so things will get "better" lest one can hope anyhowz...

  My suggestion would be to get a DEAF person to guide you on this labor of love...in your bio it talks of downs syndrome and the special olympics but u use sign language like as if to say it is the language of the disabled over ALL disabilities?

  Having lived with some exceptionally intelligent DEAF people and worked with many more it just makes me wonder if you have talked to any actual DEAF people from your area. Or even going online to National Universities for the deaf such as Gallaudet, or NTID (National Technical Institute for the Deaf)....I hope this is not coming off as a tirade but I use ASL daily in such a WIDE variety of complex ways that to see the "ABC"'s of sign language used in reference to Downs Syndrome, Special Olympics WITHOUT making mention of the other myriad of ways ASL is used on higher levels is somewhat frustrating....

  I have nothing bad to say about the website..it is marvellous for what it is. Not ALL deaf people are within a severely handicapped state....neither is their language...or mine for that matter...

  Thou shalt not spread butter over the presiding overseers car in a fit of anger over being DF'd....(not that I know anyone who has done such a thing ) wait..this sounds less like a biblical commandment and more like a recipe for a carrot top routine...sheesh..I am tired...almost done work now....
