Once, after a talk, when the elder counseled me, I actually talked back to him. I don't know what possessed me (maybe demons) but the elder was shocked.

he received all of this "wonderful, upbuilding" counsel from brother hank*, the school overseer.

England Vs Brazil, 0230hrs and A White Rabbit ....
by invisible inlife, what a strange and wonderful thing she is.
here we are 2:30am in the morning, the kickoff between england and brazil starts in only 5 hours time, you walk out of a mates house after watching the news, usual warring factions, israel and palestine, india and pakistan ad finitum, (why they can't just play cricket, i just don't know), then the other bit about the arabic conversations taped on the 10th of september, not deciphered until the 12th, and whatknot, well, like i was saying, walked out my mates house and spent the next several minutes chasing this white bunny rabbit up a steep hill, (which had obviously escaped from someones garden), i thought, england win, england lose, someone in the morning is going to be upset either way.
i get home and am on the phone to the police telling them (just prior to the all important football match) that this white rabbit is heading for marlborough road.

Adult College Students - Take a Bow!
by zenpunk ini notice that there are many of us here who were discouraged from going to college/university in our younger years, courtesy of the watchtower society.
i would just like to say "congrats" to those who, in spite of the indoctrination and the fact that they've had to attend college later while holding down jobs and paying their own way, have attended college and received degrees!.
when i left high school i went right into pioneering as college was not an option in the witness world.

My father was an abusive man. We ended up not speaking for 17 years. Two months ago, when we were in the same room together alone, he broke down and cried, grabbed me and told me he was sorry. I always wondered if that moment would ever come and, if it did what I would say or do. I just hugged him really tight. I was instantly ready to forgive. We haven't spoken about that moment again and, it will be a long road before we could chat on the phone like father and daughter, but we can now speak to each other in social settings.

i know this is a serious board, but since i know there are many soccer's lovers, i need to share with you that i and my family (we live in brazil) are really freaking out with this game.. by the way, it will be at 3h00 a.m, and i (and many brazilians) simply can't sleep.

When I left high school I went right into pioneering as college was not an option in the witness world. Boy was I shocked when, two years later a prominant elder sent his girls to university - paid tuition and all! Then, the year after that, the JW policy changed. I was quite angry about it all, since going to college was my dream and I had turned down so many scholarships. But, once I left the organization, the first decision I made was to go to college. I had to work full-time and every dime for tuition came out of my pocket. I'm now a senior at a private college with a 4.0 and 8 credits to go and, though I sometimes regret the fact that I'm the only adult among these 21 year olds, I'm glad I've almost made it....in spite of the past.

but i've had this strange question/opinion and wanted to put it out for discussion.. we know how the wt says masturbation is wrong - which i believe is a load of "crud.
" i mean, everybody does it - it's perfectly natural, normal, human, and necessary (especially for men, crucial to being in a decent mood).. so, if jesus was a perfect human, do you all suppose he did?

This was one rule that really pissed me off later in life. If I didn't adhere to the "no masturbation" rule because of trying to be a good-JW, I wouldn't have been such a tense, angry bitch in high-school!

They're everywhere
by Elders_Kid ini went to work last night and stopped by the employee break room and you'll never guess what i found... a copy of the watchtower and awake!!!
of course i immediatly filed them in the trash can, but seeing them there has raised quite a concern for me.. you see the problem is that i work at a correctional facility, and all entrances are completely secured.
that means that one of the officers left the magazines one the table, and the bad part is that it appears as if someone had been reading one of them.

Last month, I strolled into the lunch area at work and saw an awake on the table. I absolutely freaked but tried to remain calm. I work in a small engineering facility and to this day I wonder who could have possibly brought the magazine in, especially since I've heard lots of anti-JW comments at work.
