  Hi my names josephus, and i am an apostate.

  well this is the day.. i mentioned to my mum that i read a good book recently about dates, and cronology.. she blew up and told me i was just trying to read anything that attempts to disprove jws.. apparently i am like those apostates, and people didnt want to talk to my because of it.. "this is the truth", she said.. well i am now an apostate.

  Congratulations ashitika,

  you've just entered a new relationship with your father. my father in law and other jw friends treat me with surprising cander now they know i'm not a watchtower stooge. They even tell me things i'd rather not know about thier personal lives and desires etc (like now i'm not a jw i have no moral restraint .. it ain't true i tell ya! I still wouldn't rape Kent Steinhaug with a barge pole even if he asked me nicely and promised chocolate ;)

  Seriously ashi, this could be the start of something new between you and the old boy, i'm not saying he'll ever see sense or change his ways, but by comming out you've changed the inter-personal dynamics and there may be more surprises in store.

  yeah the beach really messes with yer suit and i used to hate getting sand in my bible .. there's something about JW's and the ocean .. maybe all those stories of Noah getting swallowed by a whale and Jesus walking out to save him and stuff ..

  Hey YOYoMama, but you were only a kid in 1975 (if my intuition is right)

  Did you help spread the 'goodnews' series of tracts? The final warning .. CO's fired us with speculation that the last one would just say something like Ha Ha you're dead! .. Did you cancel regular magazine routes if they refused a 6 month truth book/bible study? (like that didn't confuse a householder or 100,000 lol) Did you ever cancel bible studies that were taking too long to reach baptism? (the best thing for them really but i remmember several householders distraught at the thought of being left to thier fate when Jehovah's big crack came calling. lol)

  Pionneering my youth away in the early 70's was great fun at the time but looking back was just silly. (and embarrassing to remmember) but living and breathing that way in 2001 is just plain ridiculous. YoYo, you gotta spend more time down the beach .. the one place few JW's go

  Sure Catholics teach the Trinity, the whole world has loopy ideas about religion. A polish friend of mine went into a two hour non-stop anti-catholic anti-religion discourse yesterday .. He's very entertaining and knowledgable about the ways of ignorant sods he calls 'the black masses'. (that is most of the worlds population seduced into thinking thier politics and religion are doing them any good)

  Jehovah's Witnesses are just another stupid little american cult .. a no thought required, drive through, would you like to fry with that?, religion if ever there was one.

  What's goi'n on? .. you turning this place into a confessional? OK..

  I first posted as unclebruce on h20 and zerubberballz on dejavu.

  Posting around different boards I had/have different names, most of which i can't remmember, including KingdomHallogram, Elderkiller, Jesarse, Jehasaphat, Nimblerod etc.. While i posted as [email protected] some rouge fundy preachers baptised me and born me again as lifesbeerandcircusfree, then i had an epithany on that and became Rev.Fredrick.Hollingworth of Landover Baptist where Jesus takes us to his personal heaven and satisfies our every desire (while the rest of you fundy backsliders fry in the deepest pit of Hell!) .. um who else..

  When Simon banned 'unclebruce' here i registered zerubberballz. When he was barred i registired wallaby jack but most people know me as unclebruce, unc, UNK, skunklebruce or just plain Tina.

  modern day prophets

  lately i have seen it pointed out that the bible is indeed inspired, if only the parts that contain prophecy (that of course have "come true").

  this compelled me to make the comment that anyone with any knowledge of the ways of humankind can be a pretty accurate prophet.. prophecy, in one form or another, has been a necessary skill for all sorts of people throughout the ages.

  anyone who needed to come up with a strategy needed to be an accurate prophet.

  Here is where we disagree. Prophecy in a Biblical sense is under much stricter rules than everyday prediction by good planning. Think about this: How in the world could a work of this nature, 66 books and many authors, that meshes so well, ever be put together without inspiration? Did you know that for Jesus to have fullfilled just nine of the 258 prophecies He did fullfill, the odds are comparable to filling the state of Texas with silver dollar coins, writing your name on one and having someone toss it out in the midst of these, then actually finding it with one try?

  ooo oo rex, can i answer this one? lol . It's very simple Rex. The gospel writers wrote their accounts under the influence of Paul, long after Jesus was dead. (but i think i might have told ya that already ;)

  we're enjoying a glass of chardonnay, sitting in front of a fireplace, plunking tunes on a grand piano, and looking out at puget sound.
