  so some nice jw ladies stopped by and left the "truth" pamphlet.

  i told then that i wasn't a big fan of the bible since it was very divisive.

  as an example i told them that my folks became jw's and it devestated our family.

  Ideas to help w/ Still-believing mates

  i've been reading alot of posts about spouses trying to get through to their mates still in dubville - with mixed results.

  it seems to go like this: after some internal questioning the exiting mate shares what they learn with the stilladub mate.

  at first the stilladub mate may be receptive and even share some of their own doubts and unresolved questions.

  18yo nephew wants to know why I left the Troof.

  i'd love a few ideas here.

  my nephew has told my sister that he intends to ask me why i left the 'truth'.

  he's a great kid and i'm hopefull he'll eventually see the light.

  in the past few years we've seen a few of the old-school anointed gb members pass away.

  given the fact that major organizational issues are decided by a vote within the gb, i wonder if the balance of power is shifting.

  Reasoning with the Witnesses - for newbies.

  after reading experiences and correspondence that some have posted on this site i think it might be a good idea to share what has been somewhat effective in conversations with entrenched jw family and friends.

  when i was just "waking up" my mind was so occupied with the things i learned that i paid little attention to how i presented my point of view to jw's.

  i often employed the "shot-gun" approach using the research i unveiled along with a healthy dose of outrage.

  i was 2500 miles away from any jw i knew.

  i'm in the public library and i pick out ray franz's book "crisis of conscience".

  i was immediatly enthralled by it, but totally paranoid i'd get caught !!

  this is my reply to the jw who began writing me after i posted a comment on the msn story.

  it's a progression of this thread .

  then they reversed it here: [organ transplants] are a matter for conscientious decision by each one of jehovah's witnesses...there is no biblical command pointedly forbidding the taking in of other human tissue.- watchtower 1980 march 15 p.31 **** sorry steve, the position has changed.
