Post #777 to underlie your thoughts, Leoleia?
Yeah, and the Ghost just came over me.....
i've heard 777 or 7777 used as a godly number in christian televangelist hotline numbers, 777music.com is a christian music online store, and the number is supposed to represent an ideally perfect number representing god and his creation.
but it strikes me as a pallid ripoff of 666, and nothing in the bible seems to produce a higher order number above 70 (7 x 10) with 7.
144,000 is of course based on 12 and 10. and contrary to it being such a godly number, it seems to have been the subject to a book on gematria and the kabbalah by satan incarnate himself, aleister crowley.

So 777 in turn is a counter to 666. Yes. Youve got it. It is a bit up a "one up" on the devil.
Except the Devil one-uped God with Aleister Crowley adopting 777.

Big Bird has a rather large toe, if I recall correctly. Not sure if he trims his toenails either.
i don't know if this thread has been covered before; do you have a favorite song or piece of music or performer?
i know the question seems juvenile.
but, i'm curious.. mine, i think, is a tie between wladyslaw szpilman's performance of chopin's nocturne in c-sharp minor and angela hewitt's version of bach's goldberg variations -- the aria is divine!.
The Carmina Burana. I know about a third of it by heart and every time I see "O Fortuna" used in a television commercial or movie, I start singing along "Sors salutis, et virtutis, michi nunc contraria, est affectus et defectus, semper in angaria, hac in hora, sine mora, cordem pulsem tangite, quod per sortem, sternit fortem, mecum omnes palangite!!!!!!" Trouble is, tho, they usually cut out a few lines of the final verse which trips me up....
if you could have any job, career .......something you are very passionate about , what would it be?.
i would be a photographer,,,,,,,taking picutures world wide, and hopefully be on the cover of time magazine , national geographic.. my second choice would be a makeup artist like kevin alcoin ( sp) , he could do magic and make anyone look like who he wanted them to be.
truely an artist and too bad he passed away.
I always wanted to be a novelist. And it might just happen one day.

I must say also that in contrast to such a boring number, 666 is almost the most pleasant-sounding thing in the French language (seece sahn swasant seece, it just trips off the tongue) Hmmmm. Well, anyway, in honor of a silly number that means nothing whatsoever, I hereby announce that this thread is brought to you by the prime numbers 7 and 111, and the letters B and S. So...what's your favorite? 666 or 777?
.
pretty entertaining.... http://www.ircbible.destrukto-theater.nl/.

some people say the supreme being is male, some say it is female.. some call it goddess, some call it god.. of course this all pre-supposes one exists in the first place, but that aside, what do you think?
does god have a gender, what is that gender and what do you call it god or goddess?.
for me, i don't think god has a gender, if one exists.
Since something was always, there is no creation. There is only existence.
This was even the case in Near East (polytheistic) religions, where creation is not ex nihilo as it is commonly imagined today but a rearranging of matter. This is also the view in Genesis, understanding Genesis 1:2 as the initial state before creation.
Consider...In order for something to be, something must always have been. Call it energy..a deity...whatever you choose.
But that "something" need not be in our own universe. In quantum theory, our universe (or multiverse) may have emerged as a quantum singularity like a bubble within another universe. Maybe in God's quantum mechanics laboratory.
Anything that is deified is a deity.
So deity is something not inherent but ascribed. A view that might well be accurate.
