do any of you have the matrix wish i could just forget all this attitude sometimes?

me and the wife were fightitng again and she asked why i can't just go back and pretend or just forget all this... she said as an athnostic you either don't belive in god or don't believe that god cares so why can't you just go and fake it... i was dumbfounded i ask her why can't you just get the f*ck out and stop faking it... she stormed out and i sat down here..... so i ask ya, if you could forget all the negatives about the wbts (i know thats a lot) and just go back like nothing had ever happened would you?

i was at university the other night in the computer lab, cruising this site, well a fellow classmate who has been in my class since sept and we have become friends, walks past, looks at the site i am on and says, "i noticed you are on a jw site, did you know i am a jw, are you one?".

i was shocked.

Good god! Sword of Jah LIVES! It is the resurrection finally come! Praise be! glory Be! Is this the millenium? I guess that explains the noise last night, must have been Armageddon. I thought it was the cats getting into the garbage, but it was actually the Great and Fear Inspiring Day of Jehovah! Or early evening, as it turned out. It turned out that Armageddon lasted about five minutes and was confined to my kitchen. Which was in sorry need of judgement, I assure you!

during my youth, I of course espoused the typical witness dogma that truth was universal, concrete, immutable, and therefore fully revealed to his servants the Witnesses.

After that began to break up under its own weight, I found myself in a nihilist funk. There was no truth but oblivion. Truth was irrelevant.

Now I have gradually come back to believe in a God who cares. But as for human understanding, well, that's all relevant to time and circumstance. Hence, I guess I side more with Pilate. Mostly because Jesus was proven wrong in the long run about his kingdom, his return, etc. What is truth? It is a thing that changes, comes and goes, and dies like anything else.

Jesus also said something interesting about the truth being "in" somebody, as though it had been planted from the outside. Thus the Calvinist doctrine of predestined Elect makes a bit more sense to me; it's a way to grasp the vast intellectual gulf between believer and unbeliever. What could account for such a fundamental difference in opinion than the workings of the Holy Spirit?

I haven't been to an assembly in years - but I do recall that my parents have started attending other conventions rather than the one they were assigned to. I'm not sure why. I wonder about the cash flow, blondie, what does it mean? Will they start tithing, do you think? Can a religion file for bankruptcy? maybe they are preparing for the end - and that's why they are forming all these corporations to obfuscate any bankruptcy proceedings...

they may seem to genuinely want to know things and they might ask thought-provoking questions.....so how do you know if the person you're dealing with is the real deal or not??

any tips to help us know who those "fake apostates" are??

i have been wondering who is the president of the watchtower society?

my mother told me that milton henschel died in 1993 and i have not heard of anybody ever replacing him?

my mom also told me that the society has 7 new corporations within the watchtower society.

The reason I ask is that Karl Adams is one of those elusively powerful figures that tend to pop up in big organizations. Like Karl Bormann (a Nazi), Adams was a flunky, a hidden wielder of power unconcerned with his own prestige or fame... and yet he was important enough to get his picture in CoC, and to be a real player in the power struggle between President Knorr and the GB.

Does Donny Boy represent a continuation of the "hidden" power structure within the Borg?
